Hello everybody, first time posting but have spent plenty of time reading here on dakka. I am planning to get back into 40k after a couple of years break (not sulking after the new ork dex.. I promise!). The other day I started repainting all my orks as evil sunz, as I got a bit bored of the goffs theme. This kind of sparked my interest again and thought I'd like to try and get some games in soon, so I put together this list as a starting point:

HQ
Warboss (125pts) [Bosspole, Gift: Warboss Gazbag's Blitzbike, Power Klaw, Slugga, Warlord]

Painboy (75pts) [Warbike]

Elites
Tankbustas (140pts) [2x Bomb Squig, 10x Tankbusta]

Troops
Boyz (141pts)
··Boss Nob [Bosspole, Power Klaw, Shoota]
··10x Boy [10x Slugga]
··Trukk [Big Shoota, Reinforced Ram]

Boyz (141pts)
··Boss Nob [Bosspole, Power Klaw, Shoota]
··10x Boy [10x Slugga]
··Trukk [Big Shoota, Reinforced Ram]

Fast attack
Deffkoptas (90pts)
··Deffkopta [Twin-linked Rokkit Launcha]
··Deffkopta [Twin-linked Rokkit Launcha]
··Deffkopta [Twin-linked Rokkit Launcha]

Warbikers (161pts) [6x Warbiker]
··Warbiker Nob [Power Klaw]

Heavy support
Battlewagon (125pts) [Kannon, Reinforced Ram]

Total: 998

I have had quite a bit of success with biker squads in the past. This time though, I wanted to get a painboy in there to increase their survivability. But they usually do quite well. Tankbustas go in the battlewagon: shame I can’t get their numbers up to 15, well at least not yet anyway (lack of models). Deffkoptas are new to me but TL rokkits are a welcome addition. Boyz in trukks are of course mandatory and so will be used to grab whatever objectives I can.

I play games at a Games Workshop, where pretty much every army has decent representation. So I guess my questions are: is the list any good? Am I missing something or including something that is really subpar? Do I stand a chance?

Any and all advice welcome. Thank you :-)

Not bad not bad at all for a 1K ork group.Thou I prefer TL rokkit buggies to deffkoptas at this point level..No leadership issues...

If he runs them as units of 2 and a 1 the deffkoptas won't need the leadership value as much. That's how I have been running mine at around this point level.

Cheers for pointing out the leadership issue, though I should have seen that really. I do like the buggies but if I'm honest it was largely down to me finding 3 koptas at a steal of a price. I'll run them as a 2 and 1, and see how it goes!

You could always call your warboss Zhadsnark Da Rippa and them make bikes some troops and then also have an extra fast slot left over for 3 squads of 1 deffkopta
