Tauros Venator - Twin-linked Multi-laser - 55


I've already ordered a Tauros Venator from Forgeworld (for the 2nd list). I don't yet have a Taurox or Sentinel. I'm certainly planning to get a Sentinel (or two)... not so sure about the Taurox
My main IG army is Valhallans, but I have some Catachans I'm planning on designing for smaller battles, supported by light vehicles (~ 750pts).
A Kill Team seems like a logical off-shoot for that army

Well since your looking into forgeworld ..Tallaran raiders is a great upgrade (using catachans as your vets this gives them move thru cover add in forwad sentries and they can hide like nobodies business) and skip the taurox..Replace the plasma with Grenade launcers..(cheaper and in this case better) Heavy flamer is a winner ..and consider having them led by Harper..(yea hes pricey but ehh another heavy weapon never hurt..


Multiple Armoured sentinels with multi Las or auto cannons is always good.

Ooh that's interesting - I hadn't read the Tallaran rules. Is that in IA3? I've just got IA1,2 & Aeronautica

One question.. is a platoon out of the picture?

I was quite effective last time I played with 3 heavy weapons, 1 plasma, sniper rifles and a couple of grenade launchers. Bolters on the officer and sergeants.

23 models and 25 wounds.

It was against Tau with a small vehicle, some stealth and kroots, and 10 necrons. They were all very frustrated.

With all the guards going to ground and many other shooting at you, it was like playing whack-a-mole but the moles shoot RPGs at you.

Haha! Yes I had considered that as an option, but I was also using this small form factor as an opportunity to play with some light vehicles like the Tauros

I am skeptic about the power sword in the second list. Can you remove it and add more dakka somewhere?

I like the first list, actually. Is pretty scary with 2 armors.

Also, for both list - if you do not plan to give the heavy flamer something to approach the enemy in a safe way (like the tallarn stuff) IMHO is better to equip that veteran with something more long ranged. Maybe it's me but I am skeptic about flamers in kill teams (and hypocrite, I am finishing to paint a Scion one with a flamer, but is for modelism mainly, is a weak one - to kick **s I use the Death Korps).
