Wanted to give the Cadian Battle Group from Mont'Ka a chance. Not convinced the Command benefits are worth it but I thought I'd make a list to try out anyway.

Given that your 'big trick' with the infantry company is the massed Front Rank Fire! Second Rank Fire!, is a commissar/vox a good idea?

The artillery is a damn good force - Fire On My Target! with earthshakers is amazing.

You've got a bastion to hide your command section, and plenty of medium-weight autocannon fire. I'm not convinced you've got enough heavy armour-killers to engage knights and similar.

The other observation - you've got to advance and take objectives or you kind of lose by default. Advancing with an infantry platoon is fine, but if you're moving out a blobbed-up infantry platoon, I'd strongly, strongly recommend having a commissar or (better yet) priest to keep them moving in the right direction, and some meltabombs or an eviscerator to give them a chance of stopping a rampaging walker.

Imagine that a Leviathan Siege Dreadnought drop pods into the middle of your lines (in under earthshaker minimum range) - I'm not convinced you have enough in your army to stop that thing before it tears the heart out of your battalion.

I can see the uses for adding Commisars but think that the bonuses offered by the Cadian Battle Group mean that it should be possible to reliably get orders off without the need of Vox-Casters.

Having said that Vox-Casters pair well with the Artillery special rules so in all likely hood I'll end up fielding the infantry in a CAD and not bothering with the Battle Group.

I thought the roll many dice pick the best orders rules only applied to the Battlegroup command choice command section - because if so that's good but not amazing, because it's the company commander who needs to pass his front rank fire! second rank fire! check.

I'd rather take commissars than voxes anyway. A commissar also gives you the chance to use your big blobs of men as a reliable tarpit for elite melee units.
