Been wondering if Deathwatch would be viable at all in combat patrol games. I'm worried about their high point costs, but I think they could be effective. Below is my first list, exploring what I can fit in 400 points.

5x vets with stalker bolters and bolters

4x vets with shotguns and bolters
1x vet with drag cannon

4x vets with shotguns and bolters
1x vet with infernus heavy bolter

Thoughts? What're better options for combat patrol games? I don't remember if they allow formations or not.

Adepticon hasn't published 2017 rules yet, but in 2016 Combat Patrol allows their own special Detachment or any codex-specific detachments. No formations.

Can all of these guys Deep Strike? If so I think they'll do OK. Might want a plasmagun or some other insurance in case the Frag Cannon doesn't arrive. Or maybe the bigger bolter ammo covers that well enough?

No deep striking here, counting on special issue ammunitions extended range and the smaller board size.

Shoot, formations would have helped a lot.

I find that combat patrol games sort of act like big killteam games... where a couple rhinos will do you wonders. I'm not sure on the rules for the Adepticon format, but FWIW Rhinos are good!
Also, I've always seen a specific force org chart for Combat Patrol.. but you can take dedicated transports.

I'd recommend maybe 3 units of troops (I think that's usually the max) all in rhinos... and if you can give the frag cannons too, cool. You'll need lots of troops to win combat patrol.

FWIW though I do like the stalker boltgun squad, seems pretty cool.
