Hi everyone,

Below is a list that I hope can be competitive against Imperial Guard. I know it's kind of eggs in one basket with the Storm Raven transporting both the Termies and Ironclad, but I figure if it works it will pack a hell of a punch. What do you think? Can I optimise or should I make changes?

I can’t say that I’m fond of the all your eggs in one basket approach. A couple of bad reserve roles and it won’t matter if it doesn’t get shot down, it will arrive to late to impact the battle.

You are mixing weapon rolls in a few places. Flexibility is good, but everyone should be doing something.

IMHO sarges should be naked or just have a basic combi weapon. You have a ton of points in a fist/plas pistol sarge. Also mixing MMs and Fs is generally a bad idea.

I’m also not a big fan of any of our vehicle upgrades.

Flack missiles are very mediocre and overpriced. If you took the points you sunk into upgrades that may or may not pay off, you could buy a stalker tank. Little bit more and get a stormtalon.

Or take some of those points and get the dread a drop pod. He’ll get a lot of milage out of it.

You have spare FA slots, break out the speeders with different roles/ranges. I’d also juggle the weapons around. My preferred speeder is a TML/HB one. I think 2xMM has a lot of potential. MM/AsC could work OK, as could HB/AsC. Pick a target, gear for the job. I also find that squadrons larger then 2 tend to get in each other’s way.

I’m not sure the hurricanes are worth the points on the raven, but it should do OK.

Whirlwinds do their job reasonably well. TFCs tend to do it better though, so if you can find the points, worth upgrading. Alternatively, take the suppression force formation. Maybe swap out some of the speeders for points.

How is this for an improvement on the original list:
