Hi all, looking to have my list evaluated. Just ended up buying a bunch of new Tau minis, have been out of the hobby for quite some time.
I haven't played on the table since 3.5e and just wanna make sure this list isn't too cheesy so I'm not "that guy" in the current paradigm.

I'm looking for it to be competitive but also not make my opponents hate me and never want to play me... hehe.
here we go:

Combined Arms Detachment 750 pts

Commander w/ 2 marker drones
XV8-02 Iridium Crisis Suit: Black sun filter, Command and control node, Drone controller, Multi-spectrum sensor suite, Multi tracker

V104 Riptide Battlesuit
Shas'vre: advanced targeting system, ion accelerator, twin linked smart missle system

XV8 Crisis Battlesuits w/ 4 marker drones
Shas'ui: 2x plasma rifle, target lock
Shas'ui: 2x missle pod
Shas'ui: 2x missle pod

Strike Team 4 x fire warriors 1 x shas'ui 1 DS8 Support Turret
Strike Team 4 x fire warriors 1 x shas'ui
Strike Team 4 x fire warriors 1 x shas'ui

The plan was to have the buffmander join the suits and mark gak up for the fire warriors and riptide since they need little markerlight support themselves with the command and control node.

Why do you have Shas'ui upgrades in the Fire Warrior squads? Drop them, get thirty points back. A Riptide in 750 is pushing it, I would advise not running them below 1K, but your choice, of course. Maybe take 4 marker drones on the Crisis Team and have the commander join it?
You need anti-tank. I would advise replacing the plasma suit with a fusion suit, and maybe taking fusion on the Riptide.

I added the shasui for leadership purposes.. does this not matter in small squads? Like I said I'm new back into the game and might not be too crystal on all the rules yet.

A buff from LD7 to LD8 on such a minor squad for 10 points isn't worth it. If you lose 25% on a small squad like that, you're neutered anyway, and the difference from 7 to 8 is very minor.
