Which of the following lists do you think is a solid foundation for a Biel-Tan army? I'll mainly be facing Marines, Tyranids, Imperial Guard and Necrons.

List 1- Aspect Host (+1BS)

10 Dire Avengers, Exarch
Wave Serpent, Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon

5 Fire Dragons, Exarch
Wave Serpent, Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon

5 Dark Reapers, Starshot, Exarch, Missile Launcher

List 2- CAD

Skyrunner Farseer, Singing Spear

4 Windriders, Scatter Lasers

3 Windriders, Scatter Lasers

5 Fire Dragons
Wave Serpent, Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon

5 Dark Reapers, Starshot, Exarch, Missile Launcher

List 3- CAD & Aspect Host (+1 BS)

Autarch, Swooping Hawk Pack, Fusion Gun

3 Windrider Jetbikes, Scatter Lasers

3 Windrider Jetbikes, Scatter Lasers

5 Fire Dragons, Exarch
Wave Serpent, Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon

6 Swooping Hawks, Exarch, Sunrifle

3 Dark Reapers, Starshot Missiles, Exarch, Eldar Missile Launcher

Welcome to Dakka.

Honestly, all of those list should work just fine. Personal preference I’m torn between the last two. I think #2 might be the strongest, but that’s mostly the farseer talking.

How competitive an environment are you playing in? And where do you want to take the army from here? How fluffy do you want to be? As Biel-Tan you should probably be focusing on the aspect warriors. Which is actually a point for the first list. 40k is primarily an objective based game though, and jetbike’s ability to grab them is quite nice. One thing I like about the 3rd list is the hawks. They can flit about the table to grab objectives where needed.

Eldar have the luxury of being one of the strongest codexes out there right now. So you have a lot of leeway to take what you want. Just cover your bases to be able to threaten a variety of targets, and grab the stuff you think is cool.

I like list 3 the most. It has the most variety going for it, and the units are at their most effiecient
The other 2 lists have a bit more fat in places for a 750 list. Examples are the excess Reapers, Avengers and the 4th Windrider.

List 3 really gets you to a good spot without adding more onto units than is needed.

We're all a group of friends getting back into the hobby so I'm trying to build a solid but not face stompingly powerful army. I really don't enjoy the look of the wraithknight so I'm trying to build up to around 1500 without relying on something like that.

Are avengers generally thought of as poor in the current meta? I love the idea of the hawks but their shooting seems mediocre. I like the idea of accurate melta delivery on the autarch though.

I see the list perhaps using a crimson death formation and filling out the squads building up to 1500. Does this seem like a reasonable prospect? Thanks for the help!

One problem with Eldar units in general, is that there are some horribly broken things in the book. Are DAs bad? No. They are a bit fragile, but that’s not a problem exclusive with them. They put out a lot of fire on the move, at range. But they are not scatbikes. So why bother taking them as troops.

Same with anything not that’s not a wraithknight or a warp spider.

If you want to keep your friends, you will probably want to take a few sub-par picks anyway. Unless you friends are pushing the power curve themselves. But Eldar start powerful, and go all the way to ludicrous (if not fully plaid)

I'd still go with List 3, but maybe change the following:
List 3- CAD & Aspect Host (+1 BS)

Autarch, Swooping Hawk Pack, Fusion Gun & Scorpion chainsword

3 Windrider Jetbikes, only 2 Scatter Lasers
3 Windrider Jetbikes, only 2 Scatter Lasers

5 Fire Dragons, Exarch
-Wave Serpent, TL Shuricannon, Shuricannon, Holofields

6 Swooping Hawks, Exarch, Sunrifle

3 Dark Reapers, Starshot Missiles, Exarch, Eldar Missile Launcher
-----------------------

This way you have a tougher transport and overall less Scatter Lasers. You also only have 1 good anti-AV13+ unit (the Dragons). The Aurtarch + Hawks are going to struggle with the draft FAQ only allowing 1 grenade to be used per phase.
You'll also struggle against a Horde-style list because so many of you're shots are "quality" over "quantity".
Both of these weaknesses combined should make the list balanced against most 750 lists that aren't spamming a certain type of unit, so I wouldn't worry about the list being "stompingly powerful"
If you really want to tone the list down, but use the same models, don't put the Dragons, Hawks & Reapers in the Aspect host. Just take them in the CAD as Elite, Fast & Heavy respectively.

Is the sunrifle worth using or is a waste of points? It was a tossup between that or the holofields. Also I've got no idea how to convert a sunrifle.

Playing next week so thanks for all the help!

I treat Holofields on Serpents like a mandatory upgrade, especially since the Draft FAQ makes passengers snap-fire if their Transport Jinks. If you want the Dragons to actually participate in your game, their Serpent needs Holofields.
