Only on Dakka, I get a white flash of light between pages, opening posts etc. Not sure why. Any ideas?

You know, the usual: PC or Mobile, Browser, Frequency, Location (everywhere, just at home, etc.).

I have always had thet problem, I just never have thought much of it. Its one every device.

This happens here and another forum I used to go to. It seems to happen on pages that have a darker theme. I assume it's just the theme loading on each page, and the white is just there before it loads.

I get that too. Definitely on my windows phone, not sure about other devices.

It's on my desktop, not on my work desktop, windows 10, chrome, just on this home computer.

I've got it too, windows 7 with chrome. I think it's probably the way the browser loads each page really.

Is it multiple flashes while it loads? If it's your browserloading the site normally it might only be visible once for a really really small fraction of time. Does this happen on other sites to?

Have you tried clearing the cashe and all that?

For me at least it's a single quick white flash, clearing the cache doesn't stop it, however it also doesn't happen all the time just most of the time. Testing it seems to be kind of random, but it doesn't happen for me if I leave it sitting on a page for a while but only once and a while and the first time I change to another page only. Started a few days ago or that's when I noticed it. Not really that annoying either, just a bit strange.

Sounds like the subconscious mind control device needs a tuneup.

Happens for me too, every time I load any page on these forums. Except I didn't notice it till you pointed it out. Thanks a lot, now I'll never unsee it.

I get the flashing with Chrome but not with Mozilla ..Chrome has enough silly issues for me not to use it anymore and stick to mozilla the original maker of the web browser

Just the way the page renders - it loads the dark background after most things, and the page renders as a single entity due to very old / outdated code (built off a code base dating back to 2001-ish). Faster devices and faster connections will make it harder to notice, so mobile devices on high latency mobile connections will make it more obvious.

I can confirm this. I just switched over to Mozilla for various reasons and it doesn't get the white flashes.

I never noticed it before but now you mention it sometimes I get a very very brief flash of white. It just looks like a blank page before the actual page comes up.

It happens on Chrome but doesn't happen on Firefox, but having both open at the moment I can see Firefox is slightly slower loading the page, so FF is probably just waiting for more info before lazily displaying it while Chrome is on speed and just displays whatever it has as fast as possible.
