I'm still pretty much a beginner so I'd like to get some input into the following proposed list (mostly for budgeting purposes):

Coven's BG
Deathripper x2
Nightwretch x2
Scarlock
Pistol Wraith
Mechanithralls +1
Deathjack

Deneghra BG
Deathripper x2
Defiler
Scarlock
Pistol Wraith x2
Mechanithralls +2
Bile Thralls
Leviathan

There's a few other things I'm wondering about:

Deathy's skulls of hate make 1 focus each.  If Deathy's got no cortex or if he's disrupted - the way I understand it, he doesn't get these focus, since he needs his cortex to use focus.  Is this correct?

As well, the Ergregore's card says that leftover focus boosts the ARM of the girls, but doesn't state that you can recharge their powerfield leading me to suspect that the girls can't be healed.  Is this correct?

I wouldnot suggest 1000 points for a beginner. I've been playing for like four months now and 1000 points is still daunting to me.

Also yes you'd be correct about Deathjack. Beware Cygnar - they have so many ways to rip your Cortex out that taking a Deathjack can be tantamount to handing an extra warjack to the enemy. Do not leat Deathjack get near gun mages or a Lancer.

I'm not just thinking about using Deathy myself, but I regularly play against him as well.  With the Coven I'd just blind him and then go to work pistol wraiths death chilling his blind arse.  (Preferably from back arc)...

However, when using Khador, it is always good to know that if the Elf zings him with a disruptor bolt that he won't be firing spells at me.

The 1000 points is just a benchmark as to what to put on my "to buy" list.  I'm still working on painting what I have now:

Coven ~ 75% done

2x Finished Nightwretches

1x Finished Deathrippers

2x 90% finished Deathrippers

1x Finished Defilers

1x Primed Slayer

1x Primed Mechanithralls

1x Primed Scarlock

2x Primed Pistol Wraiths

- So not likely to buy more until at least half of the above are completed.

Got to stay ahead of the curve!  Though I can't deny that the Deathjack is very strong for its points, and very threatening.  I'm torn between using him to round out my 350 to 500 or using a Harrower.

Deathy + Infernal Machine - Charge distance of 11.  MAT+2 or, Ghostwalk + Infernal Machine, threat range of 8.

Harrower - All terrain, so he doesn't need Ghost Walk to threaten through terrain, - Charge of 10.  MAT+2 from Infernal Machine makes for MAT7 on the scythe attack - with REACH.

The Harrower definitely wins in the HTH and shooting department, though Deathy definitely has many possiblilities as well - mostly a distraction to protect the ladies - and combines with the scarlock for a possible 5 spellcasting activations.  Woo~

Both would be very annoying with stealth cast on them.
