Results:
turn 1
My army is pretty much made for charging so I wanted to get balls deep early to reach enemy thundertusk.
I was given turn 1 due to finishing setting up first.
The battle was very simplistic, I left the two cats behind to wait for any potential victory objective to send them to, I moved up my army and made a crossbow shot which missed.
The opponent leaned into me slightly, keeping distance but moving thundertusk into range - he rolls, he scores! Result: 1 dead mournfang from the bigger unit. Vulture wounds my frostlord.
Battleshock was not a problem, not with their banner.

Turn 2
I won the roll for turn 2, I move up close with my entire army - since I did not want to allow the thundertusk to chip away at me - but he keeps it and his characters behind his wall of meat. All shooting miss, my xbow aiming for the enemy thundertusk did not help their aim.
I charge into all of the meat with everything I got. The stonehornes charged the same target - 6 ogors. Mournfangs of 2 hit 6 ogors to keep them away from charging my stonehorns. my 4 mourns charge 3 ogors to blow them up.

The dmg from charge and attacks from the stonehorns blew up the ogor unit of 6 within my combat phase - scaring my opponent a little tiny bit. Took almost no wounds back, stonehorns feel fine with 3 wounds on the frostlord and none on the beastriders.
the 2 mournfangs blow up, my other three are fine, for now.

Opponent turn - The thundertusk keeps chipping away on my army with iceblast and vulture on the frostlord. his harpoon miss.

Turn 3
Gutbusters win the roll.
Pain. So much pain is the only way to explain this turn..
My stonehorn beastriders blow up due to a ton of ogors piling in with a tyrant as well who was hiding behind the first 6 meatshields before, my frostlord is losing a huge amount of health due to reroll magic dmg from the butcher special abilities. about 5 wounds, now he has about 9 wounds.
my three mournfangs became 1 due to his earlier shooting now focusing them due to the butcher being so awesome.

Turn 4. Nothing much to add, was tabled. but not before I got revenge on the tyrant with a charge from my frostlord and doing overkill on this painful enemy.

Overall: Due to being almost purely melee oriented army - I did ofc suffer hard facing a thundertusk. Still, I did not want to build thundertusks myself since I really prefer the stonehorn looks a lot more.
This was a really fun game - and it was my first game ever in age of sigmar with an army of my own. (Second game ever, first one was a test run with a store cleric)
I also felt I did huge mistakes charging in so recklessly early on with everything at once, the cats were in the back taking an objective

Worth to note: did not use allegiance abilities at all due to being my first game - not artifacts on either side. This was decided by me due to wishing to learn the game mechanics before using those things later on.
Note to self: Improve tactics and prioritize objectives. not fight the enemy unless I really have to - although the thundertusk felt like a huge and a good reason for me to get stuck in - but sadly 8th edition mentality could have damaged my way of thinking. "charge into safety" isn't viable anymore.

Got unlucky there a bit i think. I find mournfangs a wee bit squishy- my force has just stonehorns and thubdertusks, with sabres to use for chaff/objectives. Does rather well. Thundertusks are however pretty vital for their ranged attacks.

Could be. I agree the mournfangs feel squishy, people I face are terrified but I am just as much so too when seeing shooty stuff.

I will get thundertusks later on - was thinking removing 2 mournfangs and add a hunter + more/or kittens if able.
