Hey wanted to ask if this can be a good army for a beginner. I only want to play 500 Points with my friends and i really like Gulavhar and trolls, so i buildt this list.
Don't know how many points this army is, so if it's to big for 500 Point games what should i cut? If not what should i add?
Is it viable?

1x Gulavhar
3x Cave or Hilltrolls
1x Buhrdur

Looking forward for some answers^^.

First, Welcome to the Hobby!

Viability depends on your definition of viable. Are you looking to be competitive or otherwise? Are you asking if this is, regardless of competition, not going to keel over?

To be a good beginner army, a beginner army being meant to help a player feel comfortable with the game, it is good to include a variety of units.

As far as the list goes, if you are sticking with a pure monster list, it is a bit over 500 points so you will have to cut something. I'd recommend picking up the sourcebook to know for sure. Also, I recommend looking up DCHL's "How to play/buy Angmar" as it gives good pointers for beginning players.

This list, as far as currency goes, is a little expensive. So keep that in mind too.

Thank you for your answer =).

Yeah i wanted to stick with a nice small Monster army^^. My question is if it's to hard or to weak for normal Games with Friends? But if i feel that i want to go to an tournament, will my army get destroyed?

Thank you for the advice, i will read the guide, maybe i will see some things clearer than^^.

Monsters are cool, that is certain!

Against friends, assuming that your friends are playing typical armies, you may find yourself being outnumbered heavily. While the monsters are strong in single combat, they cannot withstand the sheer number of dice that would get thrown at them. When you start thinking about ranged enemies, might points in duel rolls, and the power of magic; you will find that unsupported monsters will fall.

Monsters shine with the use of meatshields and magicians. 3 Cave Trolls in a list with a bunch of orcs and some dead marsh spectres at 500 points is pretty strong. It has 3 monsters which can really hurt the enemy while still bringing a decent number of bodies/dice to the table to prevent them from getting surrounded. The spectres, and barrow-wights, can be used to lure stray models into traps or render models helpless to the monster's wrath.

tl;dr Against any normal list, pure monsters suffer from a lack of numbers and thus prefer to be supported. Its even more of the case against tournament lists.
