Hi again dakka!

So as I'm pushing hard to buy, build and paint my newest army I thought starting a blog might help motivate me.
If the title doesn't give it away I've started a Death Guard heresy army. Do far I have one sergeant finished apart from the left shoulder pad, which I will hopefully be ordering a few of from Forgeworld real soon.

Without further ado I give you a few pics of what I have done over the last couple of days/nights.

Tribune is nearing completion, just a little bit of touching up to do on the gold where the weathering went over it, base needs finishing and the blade needs washing and highlighting.

Weathering looks great; bases for the tactical marines could use some variety though, even if it's just a few extra swirls or bits of debris

Well the bases are getting drybrushed up to an almost mars kinda redy brown, after that I'm not sure if I should use desert coloured grass tufts or rocks to make them look less monotone.

Right. Update, I work alot. Like, too much. Fortunately I have had a little bit of time to paint, but it has mostly been used to rip off the sergeants and plasma gunners arms, and re-equip them with bolts guns as that's how I want/need to run my tactical squads.

Also, small dilemma, I hate the bases on my models, and I can't decide how to paint/model them.

If anyone has any suggestions they will all be taken on board and hopefully I can have some finished death guard soon.

Small update today, unfortunately no pictures.

Heavy support squad nearing completion. Just the missile launchers, weathering, heads and bases to go. Got about 15 more marines to re-paint the armour on, then weathering, heads, backpacks, guns and bases. Hopefully picking up my airbrush and compressor sometime today, so weather permitting ill be basecoating my rhino, land raider and sicaran venator.
Gotta say posting on this blog is really helping me push to get everything finished.

UPDATE - TANKS!

So Ive finally done the (shoddy) gap filling on my tanks, and sprayed them grey (no white available).

My bad gs work is very apparent, anyone got any tips or advice before I pull out the ab and compressor?

Looking very good, how do you do the weathering? Asking for a friend, my conspicuously clean models have nothing to do with it.

HE IS BETTER" But...in your heart, you love the T-rex, who shouldn't have lost to no stupid Spinosaurus. So you hate the movie. And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.

The recesses are heavily washed with brown, the the armour is sponged first with palid wyche flesh, then a mix of dark hrey and dark brown. This gives the overall look of scratches and chips. If it looks too much I just stipple some more rakarth flesh to tone it down a bit.

You can tidy the green stuff by sanding it with an emery board. It should smooth out the blobs.

Hello again all! Long time with no updates, but heres a quick shot fresh from the table...I mean battlefield. The praetor and terminator sergeant bravely advancing throught the *fog* of war.

On a serious note, work on the infantry slowly advances. Soon to be heads, weapons and backpacks left!

So...long story short: Job, no job, job, no job, new girlfriend, no money, weekends off, more painted models. That just about sums up everything that's happened over the last however long since I posted in this here blog.

Now to the bits you all *hopefully* came here for. Decided I hated the snow bases, and found a better way of doing the weathering. Hope you all like.

Thank you. I painted a T-34 for a friend's bolt action army and realised "hull red" from Vallejo was actually a gorgeous red oxide primer colour, so thought I'd try it out for the chipping. Totally worth it.

The bases are my take on Istvaan III. From what I've read the planet was burnt down to bare rock, so that's what I went with. I will be adding bits of dead marines of the legions that fought on Istvaan, and some building and imperial bits. Hopefully there will be more to show in the coming weeks.
