Hello,
Recently purchased Red Veil to intro family durning thanksgiving. I've read the basic beginner rules and don't know if I missed something so I'm asking here.

In response to an ARO I rolled a crit, my buddy shot me back passed 2 to hit rolls but both rolls were lower than my crit. So the question if since I rolled 1 dice for me ARO & got a crit (or a higher die for the matter) and he rolled 3 passing 2 to hits (which were lower), does my 1 crit cancel both and he takes an auto wound OR does it only cancel 1 dice out and I also take a wound?

Thanks, more questions probably inbound.

In a FTF roll, higher passes cancel all lower passes, and crits cancel all successes except other crits.

If the roll is a tie (i.e., equal numbers, or both crits) the shots resolve without effect.

In this case, your crit causes an automatic wound to your opponent.

Your one crit beat ALL of his successful rolls.

It's the power of crit.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

A crit in a face to face roll is basically a 5% chance to beat everything they roll regardless of if they rolled higher. Unless they roll a crit as well, in which case you both fail.
