I was just musing again like I normally do, but there has been a lot of ships released, but I can't help but think if there will more and what they'll be, so maybe this can be a space for a running tally of what hasn't made it into the game....yet.

One I was looking at was the Kihraxz's replacement the Vaksai. If the Kihraxz is the Scum X-wing, the Vaksai could be the scum T-70? *shrug*

And the Imperial Missile Boat could be fun to, as it'd be the first (that I know of) Imperial ship with a SLAM maneuver.

On the other hand, what we have seen that is "new" is the TIE Defender... hurrayh...

It was just reintroduced formally into the cannon via Star Wars Rebels.

And some guy on Instagram seems to have spotted the Ghost in a Rogue One screen capture.

Prequel Stuff they could just do as fighters from the early days of the Empire as far a Clone Tech goes. At least in the old lore they used the Eta-2 Actis and V-Wings for a while after the Clone Wars. Could still have the Eta-2 for some "Veteran" Squadrons or something.

I'm hoping for:

TIE Avengers
Scimitar bombers
Skipray Blastboats
TIE Drones
B-Wing prototype (the one from Rebels)
V-Wing
Clone War Y-Wing
V-19 Torrent

and then there are the jedi starfighters

I'd also like to see some more rebel tramp freighters and imperial gunboats like the Devastator. Heck, I'd like to see a variant Devastator that has a tie advanced docked in the front (kind of like the Ghost's Phantom).

And a repackaged Tantive that you can clip A-Wings onto (as seen in rebels) would be nice

We already have the G1A Starfighter to fill that role. And you're just begging for even more mis-pronounced names, aren't you?

With the barrier between prequel and original trilogy becoming fuzzier and fuzzier, will FFG relent in the face of Disney's desire for market shares? I mean, sure, it just sounds like a couple of ships from a cartoon show. But if you think about it, Rebels means that the A-Wing was developped significantly longer ago than (at least I) first thought, and the TIE Striker and U-Wing must have been active at some time before the GCW, perhaps even near the end of the Clone Wars?

I'm just saying that the excuses only hold on two threads 1)dislike for the prequel (which is a matter of opinion) and 2)lack of design space (which can be expanded)

It doesn't necessarily make sense to say that the N1 *has* to be inferior to, say, T-65 x-wings. The T-65 might have come about purely because it was more expedient to design and manufacture a new ship on the down low rather than inquire about and old design, acquire the machinery used for making it from Naboo Rocketships LLC right under the nose of an Emperor from the planet where it was made. For all we know, the N1 was vastly superior, yet so simple to operate any child soldier hastily recruited by a messianic religious figure could be pressed into service.

Nah, the U-Wing and Striker were definitely not near the Clone Wars at all... The Y Wing and Z-95 were near the end of the Clone Wars and Rogue One is basically months before A New Hope. If I remember correctly, Rebels takes place 20 years after Episode 3 and 18 years before A New Hope. That means there is plenty of time before the Striker is introduced, if I am not full of horse poopoo.

As for what we have not seen yet.... I have this book of "Star Wars Ships and Vehicles" that has some interesting stuff in it. It would also be great to see the Arbites Space Police ships from "Han Solo: At Star's End" by Brian Daley. The ships that Han leads Z-95s against while piloting a Z-95. Probably as Scum ships.

Episode 3 was only 19 years before Episode 4, hence 19 BBY. And I think Rebels started 3 or 4 years BBY.

Indeed. I always felt that the ships designed in the lead up to the Clone Wars right the way through to the ships of ANH were more or less on the same tech level, and simply designed to meet different needs. At the end of RotS the empire had three relatively new fighters (the ETA-2, V-Wing and the ARC-170 which were introduced in the final year of the Clone Wars) reflecting two different design philosophies. The first two were rogue-like, the other was tanky. With the Clone Wars wrapped up and the Empire ready to establish itself, it was presumably offering a new contract to produce fighters of the "fast, agile and cheap" variety instead of the "hard-hitting and tough" variety. Kuat Systems Engineering (who designed the ETA-2 and V Wing for the Republic) had a new ship ready - the A-Wing - only a year after the Clone Wars had ended so yeah, it's a pretty old ship. Sienar Fleet Systems poached a lot of the Kuat staff and came up with their own offering - the Tie Fighter - which ultimately got the contract with the Empire however the Tie didn't really come into service until ~5 years after the Clone Wars ended. This means the A-Wing is about 18 years old by the time of ANH according to that which is Legend, and would have overlapped with the late Clone Wars ships by about 4 years. The Tie is therefore newer than the A-Wing (around 13 years old by the time of ANH).

Interestingly, whatever it was the Rebels were flying during that period was obviously giving the Empire some trouble because Incom were exploring the "hard-hitting and tough" option for the Empire (the X-Wing). We don't know when they started to design it, but Legends say the first X-Wing prototypes were stolen by the Rebels only a year before the Battle of Yavin.

So.. what I'm saying is that really, there is no reason that a ship (any ship) that was designed after the Z-95 couldn't show up in the X-Wing game with perfectly good stats, other than.. "reasons"

Yes "stolen" by the rebels. Poor Incom.

An old book (a sort of encyclopedia) of Star Wars terms described the A-Wing as a response to the speed of the Tie-LN, and the Squint being developed as a response to the A-Wing.

The B-Wing, I have it on good authority, was just created to ruin my childhood when I got given the Ewok Village instead of it for Xmas.

Eh maybe it's they way I play it, but it feels like a poor man's Phantom.

Rihkxyrk is also so gorgeous with that low profile. Could have 3-4 Firepower, 1-2 Agility, 3/5 Hull/Shield. (Since pilots felt so confident and returning undamaged)
So if it gets a bead on something it can really hurt it, but the challenge would be in getting ships in it's sights. Add in a missile and illicit slot and it's good to go. On the downside or at least what separates it from a G1A is no crew slot, and unlike the Y-wing, no astromech. *shrugs* but hey it's day dreaming fun.

Also but isn't mispronouncing things a fundamental part of Star Wars?

Just make random gargling noises, you are sure to win the argument. Besides, isn't Cthulhu supposed to be beyond human speech anyways? You're both wrong, or I'm remembering incorrectly.

Honestly, I think maybe putting in some of the old clone wars stuff might be interesting to see in scum perhaps, going with the idea that it's old ships they've gotten running after all these years, a clever mechanic in star wars can get bloody anything to fly. Personally, I think the old jedi starfighters would be cool to see.

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard.

For proof of this Da Kommizzar, Luke and Leia are born at the end of Episode 3, your timeline has them being 38 yrs old in a New Hope.

It's a big ship but they could probably fit it to a small base? Scum just has so many large ships already...

Okay more to add after seeing rogue one

Delta T3-c aka Krennic's Shuttle

and the Zeta-class cargo shuttle.

Not exactly sure on where they'd fit in the meta, as the Delta seems more of a assault transport then just a shuttle and the Zeta is more sized to like somewhere between gozanti and the hound's tooth. So not sure if it'd be an epic ship or not.
