Kinda surprised noone is talking about this. Just took a gander at the two armies they've got and i like how the new minis look. Kinda weird though that it says that the Thuuls and Riverguard are metal but they definitely dont look it.
I will be getting a few Gigas....for reasons.

I hope the Trident Realms will sell well. Conceptually I like them as an original army. The sculpts are pretty good. However, earlier in the year I tried them by proxy and wasn't happy with their performance. Some of it is my responsibility being unfamiliar with the army, but part of it was the Naiads themselves. Regen 4+ is all well and good, but only if they pass the Ne check. With De 3+, they take too much damage to pass their Ne checks. When I used a army with a Placoderm horde as the anvil and Gigas as the hammer I fared better. While neither has regeneration, they both have De 6+ (the gigas only have it in the front as they have Big Shield), so they have staying power. In the unlikely event I purchase a Trident Realms army, I'd run the Naiads as Placoderms. [Recently I've purchased both Abyssal Dwarfs and Dwarf armies, so further KoW purchases are unlikely for some time. The Abyssal Dwarfs have been assembled but not painted, and the Dwarfs are still being assembled.]
Oh, I'm also glad to see that Mantic have sculpted Water Elementals at last. Now they need Fire and Air elementals to round out the Forces of Nature list. And like a few others here, the new Riverguard remind me of Slann from 1st/2nd ed WHFB.

I will be buying both army bundles and some wyrm riders. I have been wanting a sea-themed force for a long time. These are, all in all, extremely close to what I had in mind. Maybe some shark men to round it out, later on.

I like the concept and the models, and this will likely be the next mantic army I build - having said that, I'm likely to delay purchases until some of the bigger models are in other material than metal.
Lovely sculpts thought - I'm very much hoping they get some good quality studio paint jobs on the website for the riverguard, gigas and thuul.
Always a shame when nice models are sold short by the paintjob!

Very glad to see these guys now. Can't afford them of course, but I've been wondering just what some of the things like the frog men would look like.
And I like what I see.

Personally I actually like that TR are a harder army to win with, and it's part of why I'm planning on doing them up later this year. That said the fishpeople are getting a few adjustments in the upcoming Clash of Kings supplement in February, as are a number of other armies, mostly for the better. From what we've heard it mostly sounds like giving Ensnare to some of the awkwardly long list of TR units that don't have it, despite it being their UR Oh, as for the models, I dig 'em. Thuul are pretty groovy and will benefit from a better paintjob (these production shots look mostly like lazy airbrush to me? Could benefit from a wash or something, as ironic as that may be for water creatures.) Really like the Water Elementals too. - Salvage

Mantic really needs to invest in some really good professional painters. I dont think I have seen any shots of their own miniatures I really like, but when I have seen what some talented folks can do with the miniatures, even stuff like the much hated goblins can look great.
