This is my first post here, don't know if I'm doing this right but I guess time will tell...?
Anyways, I'm working on my ork army and thought I'd share my progress here for anyone who would like to see, also I'd love feedback and tips and tricks if I've missed anything.

So yeah, I haven't been painting for a very long time. My partner gave me a space marine to paint about 1½ years ago, but it wasn't until early spring 2016 that I actually bought my own paint and brushes and started painting on my own... I try to make progress in my painting skill with every finished mini.

So, let's get started, I guess? Here's some of what I have done so far, and I will keep posting WIPs and finished projects as time goes on.

Here's one of the first ork crews I painted. I was especially happy with the color fade on the runtherd's stomach (pic of that further down).

The smooth stomach fade that I was so proud of.

And this is what he looks like with squig and stick.

One of the grotz:

So yeah, that's my first orks, I think. Next up are some pictures of the WIP and the finished result of my painboy.

Ok, so after the runtherd and grotz, I tried my hand on something more of a challenge: a painboy. It turned out to be quite hard, but I'm still happy about the results (actually I wanted there to be a little bit of air visible in the tanks, but I don't have the balls to try and fix it and risk ruining an already ok paintjob).

I'm super happy about how the face turned out though.

And here's the finished result:

After my painboy was done I started working on my killa kans. I wanted to have a real weathered, rusty look... I wanted people to hear them rustling around just by looking at them, and so I worked with heavy weathering on these:

WIP:

All 3 kans, bodies finished:

Some weapons, weathering done:

And all 3 at once:

Finally I needed a warboss. Unfortunately they're all in finecast, and I don't swing that way, so I built my own instead.

I even threw a squig on there!

...and a severed head.

Gonna post a good picture when I have based him.

And finally... This is what I am working on right now. My partner gave me this weirdboy for christmas, and I'm sure it will be my best mini yet

I'm gonna update whenever I feel like I have something new to post, hopefully at least once or twice a week.

I will look forward to those updates then because you've got some really good looking work here in just one post!

That painboy is one of the best i've seen; i've often thought that the face was a little odd looking, but your painting of it makes it look normal and orky.

realism is a lie

Fantastic work! I love the skin tone and the idea of having the stomach a different colour.

These look brilliant. I really like the use of brown in the skin tones, the gut on the grot herder especially.

Looking forward to more.

My weirdboy is finished! He was super fun to paint
I'm very happy with how he turned out, and it was a real challenge to get the tire to look good on the base, too.

...and from the back, the poor grotz struggling to keep him at bay...

Next up is... I actually haven't decided on wether to paint boyz or warbikes first. We'll see.

Love it! I never thought I'd say ork lips are the best part of the model, but I think you did an amazing job on them. (The rest of the ork looks good too )

Thanks,
