Hey guys,

After a bit of a hiatus I'm back at the hobby and getting straight into a new Space Marine army.

I'm bringing to life the Excoriators, an Imperial Fists successor chapter http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Excoriators

They are known for meticulously inscribing their battle damage with dates and locations as a source of pride. Newbies are battle-virgins with shiny armor while the veterans look like metal scrap heaps.

Here is my first test marine:

After reading "The Beast" saga I became a fan of the Excoriators among other Imperial Fist Second Founding chapters, so I'm quite happy to see the beginning of a new army

(Yeah, took me a while, sorry )

The Beast saga takes place around M32, a bit after the end of the Horus Heresy, so all characters you meet are long gone by M40.

The guy you read most about is the chapter master himself, Issachar.

Those scouts look really good, I didn't think the green would look so good as a weapon spot-color, but the contrast looks great!

Looking good so far, excellent work on the weathering. The beaten up power armour looks great.

Liking the look of your marines: they have a suitably gritty feel to them and as mentioned previously, fit the grim-dark aesthetic nicely.

Those Tactical Marines are utterly gorgeous!

Everything here is looking amazing.

I love the subtle shading difference between the veteran sergeant, and I really like the green eyes.

I'm so glad you noticed that gummy!

The client wanted the veterans to have quite aged armor. So i used more yellow tones, kinda like how paper goes yellow with age.

How do you do the glow around the eyes?, i like it alot

Interesting color scheme, the color combination makes me think of Borderlands cell shading

Great work so far! The chaplain looks fantastic man, great job on the OSL with the eye lens, really makes him stand out.

Can't wait to see more!
