New update :

Hey guys,

As time goes by, i am geting near the end of my first army (at least untill i find caltellans usefull or atractive).

And i am pretty pleased with what i've made so far . I need to finish some models, polish/make the bases with new products i got (AK mud effect and magic water) and basic edge highlight on a lot of models.

I also would like to make a scenic tile for armies on parade 2017 to display my best painted models ! Something with craters, dead orcs, a manufactorum wall, a lot of mud and water would fit the theme of the waaaaagh on ryza very well i think.

Here you got the whole army as it is right now :

Hey guys ! Look at what i've found in my mailbox !

My mud bases will get a boost with a lot of mud, some water and barbed wires. And i can finally work on my energy swords pattern with a tiny brush.

I also transfered my paint into more practical pots

It's time to pause the onagers and finish the bases on the allready painted stuff.

Nice stuff so far! The orange looks pretty good on them.
I especially like the silver parts on the knight, the highlight is pretty well done.

A bit off topic, but where did you get your Vallejo paints? I suppose online since they're not Prince August, but I have a hard time finding the Game Color line in France.

On amazon or in hobby UK websites. I found this site last week

https://www.sceneryworkshop.nl/

The amount of stuff is amazing, they send very quickly and the prices are good. I found it on the magic water official retailer web page. Google chrome translate the pages.

First time doing random "lightning" pattern on blades. I am pretty pleased with the result even if it does not look like lightning at all

I have played with some poop today. Look at this :

After it dry i will wash with agrax earthshade, drybrush with a light brown and maybe put some water effect in the track traces and in some crevices and finish with some ardcoat on the lower levels to make it look wet.

I also would like to add destroyed barbed wires on the bigger bases.

Edit :

A base with wash. Allready giving dept on it !

Fun fact : the AK mud effect dry lighter than citadel's stirlan mud, after the wash and dry brush it will be a better middle tone, i think.

Hey guys !

Recently i have finished some of the models and i took some family portrait. Turns out pretty well. Unfortunately my hobby juice is runing low these times , i am not as quick as i want despite the low amount of figures remaining (3 almost done onager, 6 kataphron, 1 ballistarii and some bases to fix on 10 cicarians)... Anyway it's pictures time !

That's a good looking force. Bases are excellent as Is the exposed metal colour, lovely depth and highlights across all of them.

I am a bad person...

I have not finished to paint all the models but i did it again...

I promis i will try to open the glass on the standard heads and see if i can put the custom heads inside of the standard heads. I think it could be really nice.

Loving the bright orange color! What's the formula for it?
And the mud looks nice and icky and wet! I do hope you'll stain the feet and robes more with the same stuff, make it look like they've been foot-slogging in the stuff.

Very Cool! I love the Ryza scheme.

And you're not bad, don't you know, if you paint all your models, you die?! (J/k of course)

Looking forward to more =D

The formula or the black orange is 2 parts plutonic quarks, and 1 part cesium... JK, it is a lot of vallejo oxyde orange 130. A lot to cover very well the undercoat.

I am also planing to weather with brown pigments, i did it on one ranger and it looks really well, really dusty on top of the mud. I will also add realistic water on some bases once everything else is done.

If i paint all my models i have a place in heaven with 1 000 virgins and a bunch of rocks to punish them in case of ! Haha. And i am a bad person to buy more without finishing what i allready have. I set myself that only rule and i don't follow it..

I have just tested to place some decals on models. I was worried to ruin my paintjob, but it turned out very well and now i am confident on adding some decals on more models ! Especially the large ones. I prepare the area with ard coat, place the decal and put a LOT of lamian medium to sceal and matte the whole thing. Here are some pictures, the shoulder is not totally dry.

Nice work! The orange is fantastic. I've been eyeballing that AK mud too, how do you like working with it?

The knight really comes to life with the decals on. Applying them over 'ard coat is good sense. Maybe look into microscale products (micro sol and micro set) to help decals adhere to uneven or curved surfaces when you go in for the smaller stuff? I can highly recommend them.

Thank you for the compliments !

Thanks for the advice on the decal stuff. I cut the decal to make it fold perfectly on round surface with the hobby knife. I learned everything on the warhammer TV, the 4rth episode on the knight.

The AK mud is really good ! The pot have a good value compared to the citadel alternative. The tone is right on spot bitween a wash and a dry brush. The citadel one is too dark. In term of quality, it is pretty robust. I have put a LOT of it on some large bases and it have not cracked, it's solid and heavy.

I like your color scheme much more than the official one. It almost makes me want to buy an Adeptus army!

This time i have pictures with real sun lighting. The colours are way more accurate. No flash, no orangy ligh bulb. I also have recieved the alternative heads for the castellan, but triple helix is a bit slow to ship the real meat :(

The 6 kataphron are next on the list. I just have to paint some parts, it won't be too long to do.

Hey guys, after a long pause on painting, i am back at it.

I have some figures to finish, and i chose to finish the castellan first.

Here is where i am at :

They still need to be worked on but the big bulk is done. I also have changed a bit the basing formula, i add more dry brush and put some gloss varnish on the lower levels to make it looks wet. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

I have also ordered the mega paint set from the army painter. I will have more flexibility on the colours and i will be able to put some green, yellow or even fifty shades of grey (wink) to add variety. Especially on the cables who are only black or metallic for now.

See you soon, i hope.
