I can't seem to find an answer anywhere online, but will the rules from FOC be usable at the LVO 2017? Their own page is quite vague, stating that only things "published by Jan 11 will be allowed.

Their most recent signals from the front lines cast stated that the rules are locked for LVO and they wont be allowing the Cadia supplement

Did they give a reason why? This seems a tad bit silly to me as nothing in the book is broken. Also, one would think they'd make this information available more readily.

Most likely this. The tournament is on February 3-5. A tournament of this size needs a hard cut-off date for the event organizers to be prepared, I suppose.

It always sucks when your favorite faction just misses the cut-off. It's understandable to be frustrated, but them's the breaks, sadly.

Togusa, have you emailed anyone at Frontline Gaming or, better yet, the LVO organizer's email? In my experience, they are very quick to respond if you don't find what you need on the website.

I'd try

ITC Questions: Frankie@FrontlineGaming.org

or

List Submissions: FrontlineGamingMariana@gmail.com

or

Edit: I just emailed and got this reply in less than 10 minutes:

Me: Did the Fall of Cadia supplement meet the cut off date for the LVO on February 3rd, or did it come out too late?

Thanks in advance!

Them: Came in too late unfortunately. It will not be allowed at LVO.

It was too close to the event for us to reasonably prepare as a judging staff for the inevitable rules questions and necessary FAQs. For the same reason we decided not to use any potential GW official FAQs that came out after Jan 11th 2017. After LVO all that can/will be folded into the ITC format and relevant FAQs.

rules cut off dates for events are a good idea in an ever-evolving game. I was really surprised when WGC '15 didn't have one, and the famous gladius strike force battle company came out literally the week before. Good thing that one didn't have many unclear rules.

It is a shame that we probably will never see fall of cadia in its current state in the LVO, as if rumors are to be believed, we will have a new edition before next year's. I would've liked to see what monstrous crusade detachments or Celestine/Cawl combos made it to the top.

The book isn't out yet. There will always be questions on any new supplement. Such as do dedicated transports respawn in castellan detachment, if they respawn does the troop and transport need to both die to respawn, if they don't does the troop unit respawn with another transport even if the original transport is still on the board, can cawls canticles be used at the same time as regular canticles, can Celestine leave her geminae unit, can her geminae use her 2+ save instead of thier 4+ because Celestine doesn't "suffer" a wound tollafter her save, can you take mutiple relics and probably a dozen other shenanigans that people try to do in a competitive tournament setting. This is only a few of the nonsense questions I've read online with just the leaks out and I'm sure there is more questions needed after the book is released. Personally as the lvo is the end of the 2016 season I think it's good its not going to be part of the lvo because Celestine is going to be part of many unfun unkillable Death Stars. Cawl and his relics are just a straight up boost to war convocation and the models are already sold out and not readily available to everyone in time for them to be able to build paint and submit their list for lvo in time.
