Hi guys, i need your knowledge and opinions on this, i'm doing some artworks based on the empire knightly orders and there are some things i'm not sure on.
For example on the knights of Morr:
- Usually knightly orders are represented with laurels on top of their helmets, would it be appropriate also for Black knights to wear them?
And if so, would they be real laurels or golden/metal ones in your opinion?
- Should they have black painted faces under the helmet?
- I know they should be raven themed, but do they usually wear empire heraldry or they have their own crests?

If you have some cool artworks to share that would help too, i found some stuff on google but not that much

Some symbols, like the laurel, are Imperium wide symbols, so I don't see them leaving them off. If White Wolves wear Imperial iconography, I can's see why the Knights of Moor wouldn't.

Knights of Morr are a very cool Knightly Order, with not a lot of background written about them. I think I recall reading about a knight in one of the Fantasy novels from BL (obviously from some years ago, I'll see if I can dig it up).

With regard to your questions, in my opinion:

You could do the laurels in either green or gold, I think either is a great color against the black of the armor. It sticks in my head that the Knights of Morr armor was gloss black, but I don't have a source.

No, knights would just be regular humans, so I would paint their faces in regular skintones, perhaps a little paler than normal, due to their patron.

Empire heraldry would be fine, as mentioned above, but if ywanted to do unique heraldry for them, I'd keep it raven themed in some way, or even just have Morr's symbol on their shields.

If you build and paint them, post pics!

He has a whole series of blog posts and pics of knights, troops, and war altars for Morr. I don't know that I totally dig the heads on his knights (I vastly prefer the knightly order helms and plumes), but the horses, color scheme, etc. are pretty great. Hope that helps.

You should send this in a letter to GW. Would make a cracking Empire ( or Freeguild or what ever they call them now.... ) model. Would sing up of for 2 boxes of 10 of them, without a doubt.

Blimey, that's good. Impressive lacquered effect.

A bit late, but for what it's worth, the Uniforms and Heraldry of the Empire book shows a single knight of the black rose, with a laurel about his helm.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

Thank you!
Yeah, i found out about the rose too late, i like that logo. It also reminds me of the Skull Knight from berserk: http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/berserk/images/9/94/FemtoSkullKnight.png/revision/latest?cb=20150414010902

If you guys have any suggestions about other cool (and maybe not too represented) units, i'd love to hear them.
Especially humans and elves

Seriously though, it's a lovely piece. Seeing as you asked for suggestions, it'd be cool to see some knights dedicated to Manann - I don't know if there's a colour scheme for the Knights Mariner, the Sons of Manann are turquoise and white I believe, but in either case I like the idea of knightly orders with all the usual pagentry and plumage, but with the lighter armour and trident, cutlass & buckler armament they'd need for fighting as shipborne marines.

Another group that I think hardly any art exists for if any at all are the Strigany, and Warhammer gypsies is a great concept.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

Nice suggestions man!
I like the unusual color scheme for the Manann knights, might be an option.
I was also considering doing some of the elector counts or some of the heroes/lords from high/dark elves armies to anticipate the future TotalWar expansion.
