Howdy, old time player, just looking around. Fascinated by 40k scale titans, gargants, knights, and monstrous creatures.

Looking forward to participating

I dropped out shortly after Gorka Morka was introduced. Orks definetly have a different tone now!

Hey, welcome to Dakka. Enjoy. Boy Gorka Morka was so stupid it was brilliant! With a good group of bodgers and players who were into the crazyness, one of the funnest games.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

Welcome! Yeah there's been one or two changes since then...

SAME HERE

we started to play 2nd edition again. been busy making terrain and gluing models and some painting.

I had about 22k of points in 2nd edition and ran an Eldar Runesight yahoogroup back in 3rd edtion. I found someone included my Harlequin VDR Mockingbird in a fan made 5th edition codex and the GW Harliquin dex seems to draw a lot of parallels from my rules.

So trying to navigate what has happened since my last tournament in 2003 in 40k has been a chore to say the least. I think I will wait for 8th edition since my elder are pure cheese in 7th.

in the Mean time I have about 8 old time 2nd edition players and got 1 more started plus both of my sons 17 and 21 and maybe a few of their friends to play some mega 2nd edition games.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I know people say 2nd edition games don't play well in large battles but that is not true.

We once played 2v2 with 10k forces each person. It was a 10 turn game....took 2 days and all the forces came in waves from 1 thru the 8th turns. One of our most fun games.

In 3rd edition we had 4 vs 4 and had a similar big game with waves of troops entering as reserves over a period of turns. It was awesome (I think it was like 6k points per person or such)

Now I have a much larger room to play and will want to field on larger tables.

Playing Nids and Guard this week ....cant wait to bust out my harlequin jetbike army soon.

We are rolling so many dice to have less time to realise that there is not much else to the game other than rolling so many dice.
