Hey guys,

I'm very new to AoS... picked up the death / generals handbook and a couple models I liked the look of...

Is it possible to run a death calvary list? Or is this just ridiculous... Love the black knights/blood knights models. Made arrangements to buy some blood knights at a fair price tomorrow, and have a box of blood knights as it is. Can I simply stack on a few more boxes of black knights and make a half decent list of that?

I'm thinking this may be a silly idea... but heres a shot in the dark...

Vampire lord on Abyssal Terror
10 Black Knights
10 Black Knights
5 Blood Knights

(960)

Also.. are blood knights a good choice for me?

Cheers,
-Mtc

Hello, I'm fairly new to AoS as well, but I've been playing death for a while. A cavalry list will work, but bear in mind you will be subject to tar pits. Now you can use the run strat to get out of combat, but youre lacking a certain "I can sit on this point forever hahahahaha" element with these lists. If it were me I would bring more blood knights as they are one of the best cavalry in the game. (don't worry about their price, you can buy two packs of Aelf Dragon Blades and the Death upgrade pack to get several shields and a sweet banner for less than one 5 pack of Blood knights. paint them red and give them the vamp shields and you have yourself a very convincing 10 blood knights). Keep in mind you're going to want to use your firepower to hit them where it hurts most, take out their objective people and force them to make an expensive unit sit on it, or leave them in a spot where they have to sacrifice something. just dont ever trade 1 to 1, and dont think with "If I do this on my next turn I'll do this" your opponent will mess that plan up most times. Try to think of their move and how you can get that 2 for 1 trade and kind of ping them down until you have an overwhelming advantage.

I wish you the best of luck on the fields of battle.

Take it easy,

The list is very solid, but quite elite and you will have problems holding objectives and tarpits aren't that much of a problem because you won't suffer from battleshock. Your general's ability will allow you to boost your knights to some serious damage and taking objectives won't be a problem as both order and destruction (Except for sylvaneth, ogors on monster and dudes on dragons(stormcasts)) and as their leadership isn't all too great you will be able to damage them further in the battleshock phase. You will be vulnerable to bloodletter and reaver 'deathstars'. Outside of that I think its ok.

"Beyond that opening are my enemies. Behind me are warriors who would happily turn their weapons on me if they thought they could get away with it. Do you really think I'm doing this to try and impress anyone? I know who I am, and I don't give a greenskin's fart what anyone thinks of me."

Yeah, it's an okay list that will do fine outside the serious tournaments. Expect some hard counters, from armies more mobile than you, but otherwise you'll do well and have fun with your apocalypse's horsemen.
