With all this huge cascading campaign of destroying the Empire and new gods and such for the Eldar with Chaos just going everywhere,

I haven't read the books or fluff but there seems to be no mention from what I've seen about Orks, Tyranids, or otherwise?

Is it just me?

I don't know, but i now know i like the idea of the orks watching the whole mess and going all "Yeah, we'll just be over here punching some tyranids... none of our business really"

realism is a lie

Funny, the thing that sits in my imagination is the Orks get offended because there's a party going on and nobody invited them, they finally gather the ultimate WAAAARGH!!! and gatecrash the fun adding to the general chaos of the situation.
The Nids are left unchecked and as a result multiply - represented in the codex by a 20% discount to every unit except Flyrants and Harpies...then again, that could be a wishlist.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

The orks aren't just fighting with the nids, Ghazghkull is getting superpowers and building da BIG WAAAGH.

The amount of foreshadowing in Codex: Orks and WAAAGH Ghazghkull is insane.

He will be related to future events. It can be guaranteed. Granted, orks always play a minor role and play full heel, so they will inevitably get stomped so big E or whomever can have a glory march, but you get the point.

Unless I am remembering things incorrectly again, WAAAGH! Ghazghkull implied that they were planning on getting into the fight around the Eye of Terror. Considering what has gone down since then, I think the ork fleet might be in for a bit of surprise when they arrive.

Still waiting for Godot.

They aren't chilling at all they are building up to something huge as is most of the fluff they release. The orks will hit hard and hit in overwhelming numbers when the IoM is in disorder due to the events that will follow like they always do.
It just not op to the orks to play a part in this early in the story.

I don't expect the orks to be that surprised really. They do have spies and if their waaagh is bigh enoug to reach "the beast arises" tech levels again then it would not be the orks who are going to be suprized.

Honestly given that Nids/Orks have usually been given mediocre depictions outside their own books as mooks (or redshirts, as MarsNZ put it), I'm not too annoyed by the lack of an appearance.

Tyranids are coming from the east and south ends of the galaxy and the Eye of Terror is in the north west so that rules them out.

Same goes for the Tau.

Do you think Ghaz will return to Armageddon? With Creed now gone, Yarrick is one of the only remaining notable characters left in the IG codex. We still have Colonel "Iron Hand" Straken but rumor is the catachans are next on the chopping block as well. Yarrick and Ghaz's fates have always been intertwined. Is it safe to safe wherever Ghaz moves next Yarrick and the Steel Legion will be there?

Ghaz will show up during the fight between Roboute and Abaddon, headbutt Abaddon, declare himself da best, then bugger off, thus ending the campaign in Ork victory.

Then Ghaz will sow his own head onto Skarbrand's beheaded body and become Chaos God of the Orks?

Sounds about right. Seems everyone needs a god incarnate these days...

You know all of this is happening in M999, right? Nids are nomming the blood angels, ultramarines are taking the hurt back to the Tau empire, Armageddon 3 is just ending/has just ended.

And it's only just started.

W!G supplement updated the lore. It states that Armageddon 3 is still in full swing with billions of orks and humans pouring in regularly within some 4 digit light year radius. The planet function is lost to the Imperium from all the destruction but it is here that the Imperium is dedicated in halting the ork advance which suits Ghazzy goal perfectly. Since he's building up galactic Waaaagh! energy.

Even though he's not on that planet he has complete command thanks to his blossoming latent psyker abilities. He can actively choose to concentrate so he can see and hear what's going on across the galaxy in real time/instantaneous (no lag). Not only that he can project his voice to issue orders in real time watching as his lootenants follow his orders. This level of clairvoyance, clairaudience, and communication puts entire Astropath choirs to shame and I admit it's pretty Mary sue op as means to give Ghazzy a mechanism to achieve his galactic scale goal (on top of his plot armour in the form of two or gods that will whisk him away from death deus ex machinations style).

As for up coming tech. The supplement states in its very final entry of fluff that Orkimedes just reported that he's almost done perfecting the tellyporta so it can tellyport Ghazzy (and orks obviously) across the galaxy faster the a grot can blink so he can appear beside his lootenants and boss them around. Instantaneous galactic travel. This is reaching Old One levels of tech when it came to getting around the galaxy. No wonder the dept of assassin's has Orkimedes so high on their priority list.

While I'm sure there will be one last meeting between Ghazzy and Yarrick but until then Ghazzy has been long gone. Been busy clearing the nids from Octaria successfully and rebuilt it up. His weirdboyz got overloaded by the Waaagh! Energy and let out a galactic wide psykic ping felt by all psykers in the galaxy and flickered the astro beacon on terra. The nid's noticed and another tendril is on the way. Meanwhile Ghazzy is making plans to go start another endless war of attrition similar to Armageddon and Octaria.

He needs 4 or 5 of these huge massive pools of perpetual Waaagh! Energy to summon Gork and Mork from the Warp. The first few need to be against enemies that can fight wars od attrition on a massive scale in order to be sustained long enough for him to get the final 2 huge Waaagh! started so that all is happening simultaneously. The forces of chaos coming out of the Eye fits the bill nicely. It's been said in fluff that if the 2 Ork Empires on the galactic north of the Eye ever banded together they could unwittingly save the galaxy from Abbadon''s 43 or 45 or whatever it he's on crusade and hand him yet another failure. My bet is Ghazzy will be heading over there and taking over both empires and starting a war of attrition at the Eye.

tl:dr - GW is injecting more mary sue into Ghazzy so my wager is he'll have a big role in the future.

In all seriousness Chaos's "base" is the Eye of Terror and the Warp itself, which does present some problems (nothing unsurpassable with sufficient orkyness, but still). Exalted for the humor though.

Didn't the last tyranid codex mention the orks and tyranids going at it? That one guy captured a brood lord and set it free on a orks planet.

But now there is signs of above average sized orks due to all the fighting. With him saying who ever wins the Galaxy may have a bigger problem then ever before

Plus omg so much awesomeness can happen with orks. Think abadon just about to conquor terra then on his motor bike still on fire flys on a ork warboss swinging his axe kickin Abby's arse lol.

Of course if Gork and Mork become active in that region, the other chaos gods are weinie roasted, so again, orks in your base, eating your chili and shootin your guns.

Kyptman''s gambit. The nids were winning against the Octaria orks. Until Ghazzy arrived. All them nids are dead now. Octaria got cleaned out of nids. But.....another tendril comes lured by the psychic ping Ghazzy''s weirdboys let off. So far the Orks have been winning that gambit.
