Hello all,

I have never played any type of TableTop Wargame before, but have been painting miniatures for some time.

I can tell you that after discovering the Infinity models, I am super eager to start painting them. I'm also getting into airbrushing soon because I just love Angel Giraldez' style.

That being said, I was never interested in Wargaming until seeing and reading the rules for Infinity. It seems right up my alley as far as strategy and the rule set. I have not seen a game played IRL, but have been watching TONS of Battle Reports on YouTube.

The issue really is that there are no players nearby that I've been able to find yet. I am in the South Jersey area and know of one shop in Philadelphia that has players who play regularly. Hopefully, if I can't find anyone close by, that will be where I go to learn and eventually play.

My idea is to buy the Operation:Red Veil box and play the Yu Jing side as those models look amazing and the ruleset seems to jibe in my brain. I'm hoping to sell off the HaqqIslam side of the box (I hope that's okay to say on this forum), get some more Yu Jing miniatures and go from there.

Does all that sound reasonable? Any words ot wisdom from the much more experienced here?

Thanks for any help, folks. It would be very much appreciated.

If there's no players near you, you'll want to have a second army on hand, painted, to play as a demo/pickup game army.

Thanks for the advice. I think I found a group to learn with and eventually play with as well.

Any other words of wisdom?

- Order of operations is: declare first skill, other player declares their ARO if possible, then declare second skill. Newer players often declare both skills together before seeing the reaction.

- Hug cover, try to be in your +3 range when shooting.

- They're a lot of special rules. Learn them in chunks. Get a handle on your starting armies rules, then branch into stuff in your faction that you're interested in.
