HELLOOOO DAKKA!

my Friend does not believe that there is any gaming for 40K in the Seattle city area. He doesnt have a car and is totally willing to take public transit to a spot to play. He prefers Garage hammer over Store hammer, but he's starved for games and will take anything!

PLEASE PLEASE help me turn him on to stores/groups/clubs that game in Seattle area!!!

Thanks!
DS

Thursday nights at Meeples' Games in west Seattle is good for 40k.

The Kent Station GW also has good turnout for 40k on Saturdays.

Card Kingdom in Ballard has some 40k activity, but I haven't been there in awhile so I don't know for sure.

Heroic Knight in Issaquah.
30K on Tuesdays, 40K on Thursdays.
About a block from the lower Issaquah bus station if you're taking public transit.

Also, I am always looking for new folks to play with on the weekends. While this weekend, I am booked (3000 point game whee), anyone here should feel free to shoot me a PM and we can get something set up.

I go to the Kent Station GW fairly often, this is good information! Wish they had more tables though.

I'm a bit further south and haven't looking into playing 40K yet., but I have seen at least a few people playing 40K at Terracrux and Game Matrix in Tacoma and way south at Olympic Cards and Comics and was during open gaming/random hours. If I remember correctly, most of those stores also have a dedicated Warhammer night as well.

I haven't been to the Kent Station GW location in a long time. I used to go to the Auburn Supermall location before it closed down.

Does Terracrux have a decent community of 40k players? I'm trying to look for game shops that have 40k nights near Auburn but from what I'm seeing on their facebook pages (I'm such a recluse about calling places for information so I won't make a fool out of myself.) Is Magic The Gathering 24/7.

I don't know offhand. I only played Guildball there a couple times (it wasn't the game for me). I know the owner is more than happy to have miniatures wargamers down there and has invited me to demo Bolt Action if I want. I haven't yet as I live within walking distance of Terracrux but not so close that lugging armies and terrain would work.

I always got the impression they have more Magic and board games played there but want more miniatures wargaming. Maybe tonight I will walk down there and find out what the scene is like. I think my miniatures have at least enough paint on them that I am willing to be seen in public with them. I wouldn't mind learning the rules a little better through Kill Team or even playing though Dark Vengeance.

I'll keep you updated if I make the trip down there.

That's awesome! I don't go to local games shops much so I don't know what it's like inside. But if there is stores in the are that want to have more of a miniature wargaming scene I'll crawl out of my cave and play. I'm still in the middle of painting my Orks and I just got a starter set of KoW Orcs.

But talking about Game Stores in the Seattle area:

Games And Gizmo's
Kirkland, WA

Meeples Games
Seattle, WA

Fantasium Comics
Federal Way, WA
*NOTE* - I don't know if they do Warhammer (40k, AoS) in particular. Last I checked I think they were selling Warmahordes stuff.

I don't know if anybody named those three yet.

@Grensche

I just got back from Terracrux after speaking with one of the clerks there. He informed me that for the last little bit has been kinda slow for 40K but things are starting to pick up again. It appears that Sunday is the day for 40K.

As for the shop itself, I would say it is about 1/3 shop and 2/3 tables (both typical sit down board and card tables and the usual 6'x4' war gaming tables). I think the store is pretty good sized considering it is downtown.

Awesome! I was looking at the Facebook Page and seems like they got a good amount of tables. Well hey, if they get a steady 40K group playing there then that could be a good spot for south sound 40K players.

Just stopped by Kent Station GW after talking with the manager. He said saturdays are really the only day that people come in to play, but there's a good turnout and most people coming in have both AoS and 40K.

"Seattle City Area" is a bit vague. Does your friend live in the city? If that's the case the best bets are what Curran12 mentioned. Meeples and Card Kingdom.

Thursdays at Meeples is our regular gaming night for 30k/40k.

Card Kingdom has beers and battles on Thursday evenings, but you're less likely to find a pick up game. The general warhammer day is Sunday. There's an escalation league running right now and there are people hanging out and painting.

I would also recommend looking for the Northwest Wargamers and the West Seattle 30k/40k/Epic Armageddon Facebook pages.

Wut.

Looks like I'm B-lining it to Kent Station next pay day. Need some more paint for my Orks and check out the store.

Awesome, thanks boga. Is there an age requirement for these things? IDK how many people feel about playing against a high schooler.

No age requirements. Most people I know are in the 30s and up. However I don't think anyone would have a problem playing a younger person.

The FB pages don't have an age restriction as far as I know.

Both of the stores (Meeples and Card Kingdom) sell alcohol, but they allow minors. That might be issue for younger person and their parents, but not from the stores' perspective.

I agree, I don't think age would be a problem for some. There are others that will think otherwise, but don't let that bother you.

Last time I was at Kent Station before it moved to a different shop and remodelled I seen people of all ages play against eachother. The vibe in that store was pretty chill.

Hey, I'm 31 years old and I only played one game in several years. And I don't even remember how to play.

I live in federal way and am looking for fellow 40k players to play some games on sunday and Mondays. I have 5 armies, elder, grey knights, tau, chaos (khorne), ultramarines. Have a board fully done up transportable, along with everything needed to play including terrain mostly ruins and fortifications. I have moved since taking these pics so I can not put a board up n the living room anymore, so I'm looking for places to go. Kent store used to be good but the vibe has soured there and it seems the 40k community is getting smaller in wa.

It's pretty big, I would go to Heroic Knights and I think Blind Dragon Hobbies does some 40k. You might want to check Terracrux Games, I think they might have something for 40k.

There used to be a GW store here in Auburn, but after some restructuring, it's no more. Used to be a pretty decent size community for 40k and WFB...

Nice, Do they have a Facebook group where people can schedule games? I might have to call in sick a for a couple of Fridays if they don't mind this newbie coming to play.

Hrm not for scheduling a game. But there is https://www.facebook.com/TerraCruxGames/

I wouldn't worry about being a newbie or having a small army. Someone can be to pare down their list or just play some demo games to get you up to speed. The store is pretty laid back we aren't high tier tournament crowd.

Nice I'll have to show up, I'm always nervous what the crowd is like. I may have to sign up on Facebook to see what's going on.
