Hello,
My brother, damn him, got me into AoS by talking about his Chaos army. Now I will try to make squad of my own but first I needed to do some research about Beastmen - what I decided to play.

Although there was some fluff saying about Beastmen having variety of animal features I couldn't get a "yes or no" answer to my question - Is it possible for Beastmen to be not bovine but wolf-like?
I ask cause I would love to try to convert some Space Wolves Wulfen into an army of Beastmen vikings. Any help is appreciated.

Yes, Some of GWs Khornate beastmen were sculpted as dogs and wolves.

Just remember Beastmen are a legacy army correct? Minis that are old but don't have any new minis or abilities outside the Alliance books. I could be wrong here, but be careful you might not get new updated rules for a long time if ever.

Make sure you are happy with the rules as well before you spend all that time converting and finding out you don't like the play style on the table.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

The only units that Beastmen have that are Legacy are the SC's, everything else is sorted under Brayherds (Your standard variety Gor types), Monsters of Chaos (Big stuff and Cav sorts), and Warherds (Minotaurs types).

Sadly the Battalions are mostly Legacy, the only new one being the Wildstalker

Note that Tzaangors are Beastmen as well, and have the 'Gor' keyword.

It's Chaos so anything kind of goes even with beastmen. Sure the most common from of beastman is a goat/bull headed man with hooves and that makes sense if the herd formed in a forest or a wasteland.

If the warping power of chaos took hold in a desert, plains, seashore or an arctic tundra landscape you could easily get some weirder beastmen herds appearing. So for those I could easily see camel, zebra, lobster or wolf beast men as examples

Go wild or as far as your converting skills can take you.

Beastmen are really a group that should be almost anything and it's always disappointed me that cow men were the main thing.

So yes, go wild! take inspiration from the animal people of dwarf fortress!

(if someone made an army of sponge beastmen i would give them all of my imaginary money)
