Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Last week I ordered a couple of things from Wayland Games that were "Available to Order", I assumed this meant I would order the things from them, then they would Order the stuff in and send it off to me. It has been a week now and the order hasn't even been confirmed to be dispatched yet.

So clearly my interpretation of this was wrong, so does anyone know what kind of time to deliver I am actually looking at? Another week? Another Month?

Thanks.

Depends on the item/supplier - I've had stuff sat there ordered for months. Open a support ticket now and they should be able to tell you when they're expected in.

If its in stock you should get it in 2-3 days. If it isnt in stock it will take a lot longer.

I waited a 3-4 weeks for some Infinity stuff last year but that was new edition stuff in high demand.

Obviously it depends upon what you are ordering but as soon as they get it you'll get it.

Worth a call to their helpline though, helpful folks and they should give you an idea of when their order will arrive.

Yeah, about 3-4 weeks is about average for the out of stock items I've ordered (Gates of Antares and By Fire and Sword). Not counting time in the post.

I've been waiting for a zombiecide pack for months, truly the worst online retailer I've dealt with never again.

Totally depends on the upstream supply chain. "Available to order" meant that as far as we are aware the product is still available and we should be able to obtain it. In the vast majority of cases it is in stock at our supplier and will almost certainly on an order we have already placed. however sometimes it can take a lot longer. I know I have mentioned this before on the forums but this industry is not one of mass production and sophisticated logistics where we know what is in stock and where at any time.

If you contact the support page one of my support staff will give you the most up to date information they have regarding the items on your order.

Hi Hobojebus We do not manufacturer board games or add on's, and the supply of them is one of luck in many cases. On an initial release the stock will be available. Then it starts to dry up. Then the manufacturer has to decide if its worth a reprint and when, and what size. then it takes time to arrange manufacturer of all the different parts from different suppliers. so what I am trying to say is that board games are print run based and gaps between when they are available can be large. As soon as we can get the product it will be on its way to you. We place orders with pretty much all of our suppliers every week and sometimes multiple but if they don't have to stock we have to wait and pass on information as and when we have updates.

I have contacted Wayland and they have said the shipment is coming on Wednesday and should be with me by Friday.

Thanks for the suggestions folks!

'Available to Order' isn't an indication they can get it. I ordered a game recently and after a couple of months updates that they were still looking they suggested opening a ticket which resulted in them suggesting a refund that was promptly given upon request. No issue there, I would have preferred more clarity that 'available to order' didn't actually mean it was available...

People value a discount or low price way too highly compared to availability and speed of delivery. As a rule of thumb it's best to buy things from people that actually have them to sell to you (crazy concept, I know). I'd ask for a refund (making a paypal claim if it's not processed immediately) and order it from someone you know actually has it to sell to you. It may cost a bit more, but actually getting what you order when you order it is worth paying for.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I find that Element Games has much more in stock and their customer service is great too.

There are some items which were on backorder, and didn't arrive but after a mail to customer service and it was easily cancellable, with refund or store credit.

I now only order which is in stock and they dispatch things swiftly.

Waylaid games should be it's name, I've never personally known anyone who received an order from them within days, always weeks and months. I stick to 4Tk and Darksphere as they are both very reliable.

I've had shipments from them before that have arrived within days, that's why I was suprised when it has taken iver a week now.

Used to have reasonable delivery times. Not days but then again that's pretty tough expectatons from Brits to UK. FW shipped on saturday and it's expected to come on thursday. This on their faster delivery option.

Last orders were pretty slow though so switched to firestorm games. They are fast if stuff is in order(which is shown on product page. So far reliably).

I've made one order on a fire-sale on Mantic stuff. Arrived in a week to the US. Pretty happy. But that was like 4 years ago. Seems the usual thing with Wayland is "if it's in stock, it's fast. If they have to get it in stock still, good luck!"

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Due to work, I can usually only ship any sales or trades out on Saturday morning. Please trade/purchase with this in mind.

My experience as well. The internet is large enough that it's doable to find what you're looking for in stock somewhere.

I have spent several thousand dollars with Wayland since Brexit. I fully understand that out of stock items can take a long time, so I break up my orders.

Right now one of 'em is getting pretty effed by Hawk's inability to function as a company recently, but most of the time the stuff ships quickly.
