Hello guys ! I'm a long time player of 40k and just starting Orcs and Goblins in Fantasy and decided to get a look on Lords of the Rings models by curiosity. I'm a big fan of historical parthian and sassanid cataphracts and I was pleasantly surprised to Easternlings Kataphracts in the Fallen Realms army. I won't start an army of LoR before a large amount of time because I have no money for it and no player to fight, but I'm curious about it.

I tend to love bad guys and I always had a weakness for Sauron, Orcs, Uruk Haï, the Nazgûl, the Mordor, etc. So I would want to know how powerful the Mordor and the Fallen Realms are in LoR? tonos de llamada gratis

I have a particular interest for the heavy armored orcs types including Uruk Haï and the Black Guard of Barad-dûr , Easterlings Kataphracts, the Nazgûl, the Morgul Knights and finally the Castellans of Dol Guldur. Are they powerful units? Thank you in advance. samsung A50 tono de llamada

You just literally described the army I've just finished. Morgul knights, black guard, black numenoreans, mordor uruks and the witchking on fell beast. I'm going to say right now, that there is no shooting what so ever in the force, so you're relying on the hardiness of the foot troops. black guard and numenor can weather it, but the uruks can become pin cushions if you're not careful. they really suffer from the lack of a shaman however. if you're feeling dirty, you can ally an isengard shaman in to get their fury spell, but it's cheesy to a degree.

Reasonably. Unlike most GW games, LOTR is quite balanced. So yes, they're powerful, but you'll pay an appropriate points cost for them.

Sounds like the basis of a good army. Mordor Uruks hit like trucks for infantry (and relatively cheap trucks at that), Easterlings are rock solid battle line units and the Nazgul have all sorts of fun tricks. All I'd suggest is taking a handful of basic Mordor Orcs just to soak up some bow fire or hold up some cavalry for a turn or two if needed, otherwise the army will be pretty slow and static and thus vulnerable to those things. Some throwaway orcs on the flanks or as a screen in front give you another couple of turns to get your Uruks and Easterlings into position and start chopping stuff up.

I would agree with Paradigm, in that some regular Orcs as meatshields is a good idea.
If you're interested in Easterlings, their archers are more accurate than Orcs, and their heavy armor makes them reasonably survivable. Though it's quite possible to build an army with no shooting at all, especially as an Evil player.
Kataphrakts are nice, as are Morgul knights, and I believe they are still available in plastic from Games Workshop online, so you don't need to get scalped by EBay sellers

The even dirtier approach would be to swap out the Witch King for the shadow lord. You get the delight of informing the elvish player their hitting on sixes then rather then 3+.
