Ahoi there Dakkanaughts! I've been playing AoS since it's release now and I initially started with Chaos. And so did I start with Chaos for my very first 40k army and miniatures. And Im painting a traitor legion for Horus Heresy. As you can imagine I am no Heretic at all. However, this year I decided to do something different, something from which I was as far as possible and knew the least about. The choice between IronJawz and Death has been won by Death. The End Times model range and just overall feel of the army appealed me a lot. And after playing the Vampire campaign in Total War Warhammer (Damn you GW and your marketing), and listening to some Audiobooks which feature Mannfred, my most favorite vampire next to Vlad von Karstein, I was hooked, just like I was hooked on Chaos. So after going to my friendly GW store I was set with a choice of either Flesh Eaters (Damn awesome Battletome btw) or Skeletal Horde. After understanding that you have all 3 Mortarch options I snatched the Skeletal Horde, but not for that pesky suck up for Nagash, Arkhan, but for Mannfred. The next challenge was to overcome my hatred for painting large units consisting of roughly the same models. To my surprise I finished 10 skeletons in one 10-hour sitting. The kit, for how old it is, packs quite some variety and interesting stuff, and after painting chaos models with a bunch of golden rim and bloated blightkings, drybrushing never felt so good. However, I did concentrate a lot on the metallic and rust details. I also painted 1 Black Knight this evening, with 4 more to go until my ultimate self-reward - Mannfred Von Karstein! So I invite you to join the lazy and procrastinative journey where procrastination shall be overcome with the reward of painting Mannfred in mind!

Thank you for reading my gibberish!

Gathering the Informations.

They look good...but have you considered doing something to the eyes to add a little bit more menace to them?

Adding a little glow-ish effect like this would go a long way, I think. I had done this ages ago(image is in spoilers to avoid hijacking your thread--just pitching an idea out there for you!) and it got a lot of love from those who saw it in person.

Thanks for the idea! I usually use Nihilakh oxide for that effect.
