Can someone with the appropriate Forge World books give me the "official" heights of the Warhound, Reaver, and Warlord titans?

Which scale? 6mm, 8mm, or 28mm?

Or does he mean , actual height in world I.e 40 metres high etc

And also: 6mm fw, 8mm fw, the old 6mm models or true scale 6mm models?

Actual heights (e.g. 40m), which have typically been listed in the Forge World books.

The Warhound is stated as 14.5 metres, the Reaver at 22.3 metres (this presumably includes the back mounted missile launcher).

Forge World had stopped including the data sheets in the books by the time they brought out the Warlord. However, comparing the actual model heights, they've built it at about 31 metres, which is broadly consistent with things like the Epic models and the old Apocalypse data sheets, which had the Warlord as a hair over twice the height of a Warhound. (Although individual authors and artists have come up with all sorts of crazy sizes).

Yes, I've seen some of the fiction hyperbole on titan size - it's pretty silly.

From the opening post in the Adeptus Titanicus rumours thread, there's an image that says a Mars-pattern Reaver has a "resting height" of 25.21m (82' 9"), "Height and mass non-inclusive of weaponry and munitions stock", which to me doesn't include the missile launcher.

There's two reasons I'm thinking that way.

Firstly, the models. The Reaver's main body isn't actually that much taller than the Warhound:

However, if you include the missile launcher the overall height is about half as much again as the Warhound, which fits with the 1.53:1 ratio for the 22.3 m / 14.5 m on the IA data sheets.

Secondly, I know they've done it for other things. The data sheet for the Rhino, for example, definitely included the storm bolter in its height. That's why my 54mm scale Rhino is somewhat larger than it should be - I made the mistake of only checking the scale of my diagrams to the quoted height (and not also the length), assuming it didn't include the Storm Bolter. (However, happy mistake, as it means the model's interior now has just enough headroom that most characters can fit inside).

Even so, it doesn't make the size of a Warhound look any less intimidating.


On which note, a lot of arguments about the size of titans seem to fall into how "impressive" the size is perceived to be. Maybe the 28mm scale models don't convey the size so well, but my experience building one in 54mm scale* is usually "Holy bejeebus, these things are huge".
* Mainly as a display piece. I haven't played WH40K in years, and I knew I'd be scratch-building, so the scale I made her was fairly arbitrary. However, she will eventually get used for Inquisitor - she makes a surprising amount of sense as a GM's asset; she's powerful enough to be a major plot element, yet can't be stolen by joyriding players. Also, she gives me an excuse for interesting characters I wouldn't otherwise be able to make.

I'm not arguing with your reasoning. just adding a data point. I assume the AT rules will have similar data sheets for the Warhound and Warlord, which will hopefully be consistent.
