Just read Fabius Bile: Primogenitor, loved it.

One thing i missed though is that the whole book takes place in M34! which after finding that out made me really really get a strong urge to know what the old man is upto (iutside of codex fluff) in the current era.

5000 years is a long time from the events of Primogenitor! anyone got any other works, background sources or if JR has plans to do any other novels more set in the current 40k timeline on olde fabius?

There were a few short stories about him around 3rd/4th ed

And I think he came up in a few sotries from the Inferno mags..

Cant tell you exactly where though

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Generally he's just been hiring himself out to warlords who either want their ranks refilling or their warriors 'enhanced', in exchange they give him things/people/aliens to experiment on.

He is currently being hunted by a chapter successor of the Imperial Fists and fled to Arkhona.

He himself said that he had no more than hundreds of years left, which means that either he cured his cancer (unlikely) or in the eye of terror, only a few hundred years (if that) have gone by.

Josh Reynolds ia good teller of tales.

"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

Generally in this setting they repalce Cancer effected organs with cybernetics... I'm sure he can revert to that (not that he is a fan)

The Daemon Possessing Fulgrim's Body

Devon, UK

It isn't that simple.

Fabius is affected by the blight that nearly wiped out the III prior to the rediscovery of Fulgrim. He himself was instrumental in the execution of many Legionaries that suffered from it, using the preogenoid glands harvested from the corpses to fabricate a serum to keep the symptoms under control and hide his own taint.

The search for a cure would appear to be the genesis of all his experimentation.

Once Fulgrim was reunited with the Legion, he was able to provide fresh genetic material to manufacture new Marines, but, to my knowledge, no cure was ever found for Marines created with tainted geneseed, and I expect by M34, if not much sooner, Fabius is likely the only one left.

Even if he was prepared to replace organs, or even become interred in a dread, whatever organic matter that was originally him would still be subject to the effects of the taint.

We find comfort among those who agree with us - growth among those who don't. - Frank Howard Clark

The wise man doubts often, and changes his mind; the fool is obstinate, and doubts not; he knows all things but his own ignorance.

The correct statement of individual rights is that everyone has the right to an opinion, but crucially, that opinion can be roundly ignored and even made fun of, particularly if it is demonstrably nonsense!” Professor Brian Cox
