Kinda a silly question but here it is. So since cipher cant run with dark angels as an ally should he be able to run with deathwatch since there are dark angels in side of the deathwatch? Or do you just sub out yiur dark angel models?

They aren't Dark Angels faction so it doesn't matter.

fluff wise the DA members of the DW would probably sabotage their own mission if it meant they could get Cypher.

I kinda imagined from a fluff stand point that it would be like that.

Not every dark angel seconded to the deathwatch will be a deathwing/ravenwing veteran, though; so they won't necessarily know who he is.

Indeed, an Unforgiven Deathwatch Veteran might even be duped into believing he's a "real" (current) Dark Angel seeking their help and support him enthusiastically - after all, he knows more chapter secrets than many current members, and is a gifted liar....
