So there is something I dont understand... The codex i have seems to give me point prices for whole squads but not individual models.. but I see discussions ware people are talking about swapping out individual units and asking if the points would be too high for the unit and such.
It was like
"I have 2 of a 5 Sslyth unit Is that good?"
To which the other said
"Id combine 5 Sslyth with 3 Succubi and a Archon"

Is it possible to mix and match models within a unit? Like if i wanted too could I add different soldiers an such with different guns and gear?
Cause if so that would be very exciting, custom units and numbers, but as far as i can tell theres no way to know how many points it will be if you add or remove models from a squad.

I think you missed the forum you wanted for this question.

But it really depends on the unit in question. Many units have an initial purchase price and then have an option to add models for X points. There are even some units which carry a significant variety of models (though, they are rare), such as the Court of the Archon, which do not have a set model count initially, but can be chosen from their list up to so many models.

The Court of the Archon (going by the noted Sslyth) does not have anything in Unit Composition but to look below. In Options, it states that the unit consists of 1-12 models, in any combination, chosen from the list below it. So you could have 1 Sslyth, 12 Sslyth, or 3 of each, provided you paid the points.

Are there rules for creating custom squads? Like even fan rules? How to celculate how much it brings the squads value up and down by? Id love to add a second Plasma Cannoner to my space marine unit.

The rules for creating custom squads are usually between you and your opponent.

For "calculating" the point cost, it really isn't hard for the what you are saying. Devastator Squads can take 4 Plasma Cannons in the Squad, for example. The price for each of those individual Plasma Cannons is the same between the Tac Squad and Devastator Squad, and both list them in roughly the same place. It's just getting your opponent to accept a game against a 2 Plasma Cannon Tac Squad or a 5 Plasma Cannon Devastator Squad is the challenge.

The points for the base individual models aren't that hard to figure out. For any unit which can grow, you have the price point right there for adding additional models.

For other units, like the Company Command Squad, you look at its composition and divide the point total by that number. If there is a Character that also has a higher Ld and/or Attacks profile, you subtract 10 points, then divide the point number from the list.
