Hello out there,
a while ago I built a submarine for Warhammer 40k. The result of this Project should not be kept secret. So here is my mini-Warship.
First I made a frame of styrodur and cardboard. I also used a wire grid for the upper deck.

I used some carton to create the ship´s hull.

With the same principle I created the tower. While the glue was hardening, I used rubbers to fix the cardboard on the frame.

The railing was built of plastic Card to have a better stability.

For the surface I crafted some cardboard stripes and glued these on the hull.

At least I built a snorkel or a periscope of a straw and a few bits. The rivets were made of cardboard and a punch plier.

…and that is the constuction. I hope you like it. Cheers!

Hole punch = big rivets! Yes, good solid Orky construction!

Good angular blocky but still boatlike shape to this fish. I want one too.

Thanks a lot!
Here are the next steps.

First I painted it in black. At next I used different grey scaled layer to get these steely look. Therefor I mixed black, white and a bit blue. It is a simple drybrush. I always start with the dark shades and use lighter shades in following layers. After this I painted a red waterline below. I also use a thin black lines for all edges and shapes.

For the steely parts and the rivets I used the same method but colors between brown and orange. On the grey surface I used a small sponge to dab the rust also in brown and orange scales. I highlighted the bullet holes in metallic.

The engine was made of overlapping paper stripes and these Chewing gum boxes.

At least I painted freehand graffitis on both sides of the tower.

Now it has the evil appearance, what I have wanted. Like all these weapons of a super villain, Stuka, long Gustav, Submarine, death laser on the moon… you know what I mean

Nope, I currently prefere a ice-base like this....

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Skate_(SSN-578)#/media/File:USS_Skate_(SSN-578)_surfaced_in_Arctic_-_1959.jpg

Recently I worked on the orc crew.

Therefore I used standard Orcs an a bit green stuff to give them life jackets. I also combined a gun from a WW2-Model and some bits to enlarge the caliber.

That is the Captain. I tried to give him a simple but noble and lofty pose.

I also crafted the ginner and the loader.

A Submarine also need a air defence. So I realized this mad guy...

At least here is an immage from the entire boat.
