Battalion:
Gnarlroot Wargrove

Leader:
Branchwych

Leader/Behemoth:
Treelord Ancient

Battleline:
5 Tree-Revenants - Waypipes, Glade Banner
10 Dryads
10 Dryads

Other:
3 Kurnoth Hunters - bows

Kuroth Hunters are armed with bows to sit in the back field and provide solid shooting support for my advancing elements.
Dryads are my main objective-holders, but can also hold up in combat against a good few things (Particularly if I keep them near Wyldwoods)
Tree-Revenants wander in from a table edge to hold up the opposition's back field units.
Branchwych follows the Dryads probably, giving farily basic magic support and maybe choosing damage oriented spells if I'm facing tougher armies.
Ancient goes wherever he's needed, I know that I'll be choosing Treesong as one of his spells as I believe Wyldwood support to be one of the Sylvaneth's best traits and even if he's not summoning Wyldwoods I really like magic.

There's a Doubles Tournament coming up next month for me and I've decided to go with Sylvaneth for it. Obviously at such an early stage I have no idea what I'll be seeing or who I'll be paired with so I've written what I think is a decent TAC list (I am still very much an AoS novice, with but twelve games to my name) so I decided to see what Dakka thinks of it. Any thoughts or suggestions are always appreciated. Thanks lads.

I'm not entirely sure where your damage is going to come from. Hunters are good at picking wounds off of unsupported heroes and Revenants are good at picking off unsupported ranged units near the back of the board but in a full on brawl I don't have confidence in those dryads to hold the line.

I would suggest blocking the Dryads into a big unit of 20. A block of 20 Dryads in a Wyldwood is essentially immovable, A 3+ Sv with -1 to hit and benefits from being the obvious target for that Arcane Shield that both of your wizards know. Damage-wise they are mediocre, but they can lock down any area near a Wyldwood and you can pump Great Bow and Arcane bolts into important models. Extra points if you charge the ancient in corner to corner and inflict a Stomp alongside Arcane Shield and thr Ancients command ability, 2+ Sv re-rolling 1's and -2 to hit will stop a bloodthirster in their tracks.

Not to mention if by some god awful chance they drop below 12 you can resurrect them. With this as the core of your army, the Revenants can pick around the edges as they are best at and Great bows can pump into what they feel like. Dryads just gain so much by being bunched into 20 models, all you have to do is slowly grow Wyldwoods up to the obj and wait, you won't be moved.

Thanks for the response. My thinking had been that two smaller units would be able to go after two objectives at once (And they'd done okay in my few games so far - though they were just fighting Gobblins and Skeletons). However with your advice I do think that combing them to a 20 man unit would be better.

Any thoughts on the Tree Ancient and Branchwych or do they look solid?
