My first blog! 15mm Vanguard Novan Winter Infantry painted as Steel Legion.

More infantry are undercoated meanwhile I just remembered I have vehicles hidden away somewhere from my last attempt at 40K 15mm. In a box. Somewhere...

Dug out my vehicles from my last 15mm 40K project... then remembered they are made from 20mm plastics, not 15mm! They are a bit big but will do for now, at least until these guys have vehicles released.

Lovely stuff.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Looks more like a Malcador than a Leman Russ, size wise I mean...

Turning the Leman Russ into a Malcador would be an option. Heavy bolters are easy to make in this scale, just requires slicing up a 28mm bolter.

The worst is the poor Griffon. It has a t-34 for a hull yet only packs a mortar from a 15mm SdKfz halftrack.

Another base done, in better lighting this time:

More progress:

Novan Regulars with Trojan transports. Also, a base of Guardians. All on 6cm by 4cm bases.

Looks nice, I like the effect of the crackle paint at this scale.

Moved over to round, desert bases using Vallejo paste. I found the GW paint to be inconsistent in colour between different pots. Better part of a company done with the new basing:

Two stands of heavy weapons. After much deliberation I went with 50mm bases despite only having 9 models per base. It allowed them to spread out more lengthwise.

A full company except for the command staff and transports. 4 platoons and 1 heavy weapon platoon split across two bases.

A company of Siege armour, minus the command staff. I am taking Siege armour as having half sized platoons. Also on 50mm to allow them to spread out more.

One nearly complete 3mm Sons of Horus army.

3 Infantry Companies, each with five platoons (each heavy weapon platoon is split across two bases so each company has six infantry bases) and transport.

1 Heavy Infantry Company with three platoons and transport.

1 incomplete Armour Company with two platoons.

1 incomplete Heavy Armour Company with two platoons plus a command vehicle.

Some command stands.
