In light of Not-cromunda releasing soon, I am trying to get a table ready for Shadow-War/Yak-Tribe Necromunda. I'm wondering if people have...

1. Pictures/examples of good terrain setup for the game, to help give new players a sense of what works.

2. Good places to buy appropriate terrain.

I have loads of 40k ruins, etc... but nothing which seems to suit the verticality i'm hearing is somewhat required for this one. I'll probably grab two of the new boxed set which should help, but it sounds like more walkways/gantrys/ladders are in order.

Combine these with whatever other bits you can get your hands on and you should be set.

Laser cut MDF might not even be such a bad option either:

Or just go crazy with existing 40k terrain kits:

You can do vertical buildings with the Cities of Death kits though it can get expensive for just one person to do.

That's actually pretty cool. Cities of Death had the connecting walk-ways?

As for expense... i'm my club/group's sucker, and always end up being the one who buys in for others. :-p

Not as such, but they're easy enough to do.

Tehnolog/Imex make great, cheap plastic sets for terrain, you can find em online at various shops and on Ebay. There's a half dozen or so series, but the ones you want are the Platformer and the Hexagon sets. Bear in mind they use completely different connectors, but they're fantastic

Building a blood in water scent

Cardstock, Exacto and glue. Takes an afternoon to knock together something that looks pretty good, then paint.

Pegasus Hobby makes some Gothic building sets and a technobridge.

Also search online stores for 'O' Scale model train kits, most will not be suitable (farm houses and wooden/brick buildings) but there is some industrial type kits in there as well.
