is it possible to play deathwatch with some eldar race allies?

I know that they are strictly against the eldar and all alien races but in deathwatch warriors coven (a novel about dw and eldar fighting side by side) they seem to kinda get together when they're facing a common enemy such as chaos or nids.

Would people get mad if i pull up with dw and eldar as allies or would it be accepted?
If so what eldar race would work out for me?

or should i just make up some bs story about why they get together?

i'm just curious about if they're good together gameplay wise.

Mind control perhaps, or a greater common threat should be cool enough for most people IMO.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Is it possible RAW & RAI yes. Just use a detachment with an eldar faction and one with the deathwatch faction and you are there. There are examples in the fluff where eldar and humans work together, the gathering storm for one is a great example. Nearly all of them end in the humans being used as pawns or being betrayed at the end.

Would I get mad nope unless its a fluffy campaign and you made some horrible setting breaking army that involved tons of special units or when it is clearly done to max out the cheese.

"deathwatch with eldar allies" is Heresy!
That's how that title should go.

But kidding aside, there is nothing stopping it and I would imagine that DW sees Eldar as a lesser evil in situations where Ork scum or Tyranid filth are present

What eldar race would work best ?

Craftwolders -> Some humans need some "guidance" in order for them not to mess too much with the grand plans. For example they might team up to kill off an idiotic rogue trader who is doing some excavations on in a xenos ruin.

Dark eldar -> Mercenaries, or some grand plot do not expect things to have a happy ending, but hey its possible.

Ynarri -> Only the emperror knows what these daemon worshipping vampires are up to, they already have one primarg, and a large faction of the black templars under their influence, the deathwatch doesn't seem out of their reach.

Crossairs -> More pirates that you can hire to kill off other xenos scum, a radical inquisitor might not be above hiring them as specialists.

Here is a good example -> http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Children_of_Thorns
Those guys might just use the deathwatch go get even on the ones who exiled them.

Seeing as there are death watch whom specialize in killing eldar, I would see it as a bit of a problem fluff wise. Rules wise nothing is stopping you. Fluff wise, I could not buy it. Sorry. Its like grey knights working with demons.

Personally, I wouldn't have too much wrong with it as long as the army was well built and painted.

Also, I have noticed you posting a lot of threads lately, that is fine, but I feel a lot of your questions would be better answered by one larger thread in the future.

The trick with very-unfluffy armies like Deathwatch + Xenos is to ask "what's going to happen five minutes after the battle ends?"

Team-ups in this setting tend to be temporary and violent.
