Be better if the people who vote also provide a comment -- it is a discussion board after all.

Ideally those who vote would be those who've read/bought the magazine, but we can't really enforce that so keep your internet poll broomstick of skepticalness ... ? ? ..... or whatever to hand when reviewing the results.

be extra handy if you could say which bits you really did/didn't like, what you'd like tweaked or added and so forth.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Indeed.

But the subscription copies -- for some anyway -- have been arriving a few days early at times.

.. some very late too of course...

Some good articles this month.

Lots on the Stunties, stuff and additional rules for Shadow War (Skitarii and Genestealer Cult), and a rather excellent article on the modular features of the new terrain.

8/10 from me.

New-Dwarf has been as much as could have hoped for a mono-company mag. Consistently maintaining a decent quality, actual content and an average score of 7/10 IMHO.

This month I rated it at a 9/10. New not-Necromunda is despite my initial misgivings looking good at the related content is top-notch. The giant table the made is boss, can't wait for mext months 'how they made it' article.

Two extra Kill-Team rules are included, a free character duelling game and a ton of Dwarf Sky pirates stuff is all I've had a chance to look at; but there's loads more.

This is Dwarf as it should've been for the last decade+ but wasn't.*

* - it is entirely possible that this whole post is tinged my bias toward anything Necromunda related but I don't care.

Do we know yet if the Skitarii/Genestealer Cult things are exclusive to WD, or will they be in the rulebook?

Not sure, but I suspect not.

Doesn't say "White Dwarf Exclusive" so I think perhaps not.

Also, I assume it's a misprint that the Neophyte Specialist is 10 points? Probably should be 100!

10/10 for the issue from me. The massive Oil Rig is amazing. Floaty Duardin are extremely exciting, as is the new Necromunda. Blanchitsu is also great with some of my favorite models from the Pilgrymme game (Kari's models).

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

New terrain looks very flexible and, if you're careful, can be dismantaled after a game.

Under sides feature a pin and plug system, with clampy plate type things to hold the parts together.

Not sure that'd work for regular use though, because broken pins would suck. But if you've got some clever work around, exceptionally flexible kits, and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some,

Seems the Skitarii and Genestealer Cult are indeed WD exclusive.

Presented as New Rules in the contents and their section.

Totes worth it though!

Seems 'Tech' skills are gone, and replaced with Guerilla...no indication what the Guerrils skills actually are.

Oh god I'm excite for this! If I can buy a wicker shopping basket, I may forgo the wicker usherette tray I'm looking to get, and buy this instead.

Now hold on a second. The main Shadow War thread says the rules will be available as pdfs, possibly as soon as this weekend. Will I have to buy this issue or not? Does anyone know for sure?

In short? No.

I can only say what's in WD and how it's presented.

Same ol' GW.

Put it all in the book, dummies. Then put the whole book up as a pdf!

I wouldn't be so sure because it doesn't say 'White Dwarf Exclusive' like the lake town rules have stamped on afterwards.

Yeah, definitely worth it if you plan to play those gangs. Luckily I have both, ready to go!

Yeah I read the rules for cult and skitarri and immediately bought a neophyte hybrids box to start making the kill team. I'm exicted and it's going to be extremely fun

I'm away so I haven't got a chance to read the April issue, will rate and comment on it later. So far all WD rules and many of the painting guide articles were re-released for free on warhammer-community.com. It will take a while though, but the magazine is available digitally too.

8/10, best issue to date for me personally. Excellent bat-reps, good hobby guides and reams and reams of info / previews on the upcoming dwarves and Armageddon kerfuffle, which left me wanting to know more about it all.

Anyone wondering who it is keeps giving it a 1 as soon as the poll is open and before copies are in hand?

I think it's either a certain salty person upset because the threads are an insult to those still waiting on their subscription issue to arrive orrrrrrr it could be one of the few around here who go into attack mode the moment they see something by GW.

Really enjoyed it

The background and info on the overlords is cool, I need some balloon warriors and over admiral tophat

and the shaodwspire battlereport was a load of fun, naming all the minis always makes things more fun as does lots of them falling to their explodey deaths

plus lots of other fun stuff

Or fall down a gantry, break both legs, then proceed to scream for help for most of the game, ignored.

If you don't break both your legs then spend the rest of the game screaming for help, are you even playing Notcromunda??

Agreed.

The art and info about about the new airdwarves was quite cool, I might even pick up the battletome as/when just out of interest.

Battle reports were good -- a little bit surprised about the AoS one... considering, if you follow me.

Liked the art, extra info was good.

All in all a great issue, 8 /10 for me.

Imperial Guard used to lose almost every inaugural bat-rep in White Dwarf history.

Been Around the Block

Had to go for the Lovecrafte-esque 11th option!

I have been re-reading some of the real old school mags (100 -130 odd) on Scribd and there is a nostalgic twinge but to be honest I think the new WD is actually a better read and a better advertisement.

The stuff on the Kharadron is really interesting, the art is great, the Shadow War stuff is exciting, and there is some actually useful hints and tips! In addition the feeling I get from the mag these days is not "here is something to buy. Enjoy" but instead "here is cool things to do with your models - oh and new stuff as well"

Without the 11th option I would have gone for 9 out of 10.

8/10 for me, closer to a 9. Loved the battle reports (the Shadow War one made me pre-order the game...), and there were several standout articles such as the terrain article, Blanchitsu and Kharadron overview.

10/10. I loved both batreps - the AoS one finally pushed me over the edge for picking up the Start Collecting FEC box. (Ha surprising win there, too!) The oil rig for Shadow War is absolutely amazing. The guys who designed and built it are my heroes. I enjoyed drooling over the VSF dwarfs but thankfully don't feel too tempted LOL.
