Extra Munitions for Illicit cards. Adds a lot of value to those 1-shot illicits, but having to take the YV-666 kinda limits listbuilding.

Which makes me wonder if they'll be bringing out another 2+ crew Scum ship sometime soon.

Minimum of 35pts for Jabba so not going to see much use in standard but is going to be all kinds of fun in epic. The added insurance for cloaking is very nice.

Dangit, now I need it. This is kind of the final push for me, I'm getting this bloody thing, I like that too much to leave it behind

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard.

Outflanking

Okay, collected my thoughts a bit. Currently, I'd say that there are four categories that expendable Illicits fall into.

1) 1 point disposable- Inertial Dampeners, Burnout SLAM, and Rigged Cargo Shoots. These are Illicits which are good because they are cheap. Jabba does not do much for these, as he struggles to make his points back. Is effectively having a second Illicit slot on your ships better than spending the 35+ points for Jabba's ride on something else? Because all you are really doing here is paying a massive premium to add extra illicits on most ships.

2) 2 point disposable-Glitterstims, EMP Device. These are where Jabba will probably get most of his mathematical efficiency, as these are 2 points that you probably will spend, so Jabba is very likely to at least break even compared too just having extra illicits. Problem is, it can be hard to fit a decent number of these in a list alongside Jabba's ride. Glittersims on Jabba, a couple K-Fighters/G1-a's, and a Suicide Z-95 with EMP Device? A single Shadowcaster Ace? You are saving maybe 3pt, and have to build specifically to do this. It still feels like you are paying huge premiums to add an extra illicit.

3) Insurance- Scavenger Crane, Cloaking Device. Jabba makes sure that you don't lose a key upgrade card at the wrong moment. However, he is extremely unlikely to make his points back, since these upgrades are not guaranteed to need his ability. However, being able to clutch out a recloak on some ship is bound to be useful.

4) Hot Sht blasters Just take a TLT Y-wing. This leaves you way more flexibility when list building. Jabba turns these into an okay emergency weapon on ships without turrets, but it also has to compete with BMST and Feedback array, and is not something to plan on. Maybe a decent second illicit in a Jabba list, but the only ship that has multiple illicit slots already is the shadowcaster, whose Aux Arc makes this a questionable choice.

Overall, I feel that while Jabba has potential, he is crippled by the fact that he forces you to take a YV-666, and burns 2 valuable scum crew slots. This leaves you with a 34 pt (probably 36, since you want an illicit) ship minimum, with only okay jousting value. This leaves 64 points to spend on other stuff. You are going to struggle to get enough illicits on the board to make a meaningful impact. A Z-95 with a rechargeable EMP is going to be nice, but it is so unlikely to survive long that it barely counts. It is also unique, so not very spamable. Glitterstims/Inertial Dampeners are not going to do much for Z-95's, and as I said earlier, Hotshot blasters still suck. Quadjumper with Seismic charges and crane coem out to 19 points, are of questionable usefulness, and have the same survivability problems as the EMP Z-95. After that, you start to hit 22+pt a pop (Constable Zuvio with cranes and bombs, Glitterstim K-fighter), meaning that you are not going to get a ton of Illicits into your list, basically capping yourself at 2 more Illicit slots, plus maybe that EMP Z-95. So, you are trading 5 points for 8 points of re-used Illicits. Assuming your ships survive long enough to re-use them. Is this enough to make up for the fact that a lot of the ships you will be spamming (including Jabba's ride) are not very mathematically efficient? If you grab a cloaking device ace, you will probably have a ship well over 30pt, meaning that you aren't getting that Z-95, killing what mathematical efficiency you have. Sure, getting to save your cloaking device is one of those things that is probably not very well predicted by the simple math. But what about the Aces you'll put it on? None of them are exactly great.

If there was something along the lines of a U-wing or Lambda, then you could sink those 7-8 points into other ships, and maybe you'd have something. As is, the only list I can think of that might not be trash is the triple toaster (3x YV-666 with Glitterstims). The other thing thatwould help would be some high-powered, high-cost, single-use illicits, to give you some serious point savings to make up for being stuck with a "meh" ship.

Meh I like the hot shot blaster on at least one of my Z's cause my opponent normally goes "Ha you flew right by me!" and then I grin. Or I just screwball it and end up out of arc for a regular shot.

TLT is great but people are getting fairly good here at getting inside the donut hole, so I either have to have an autoblaster Y nearby to 'persuade' them off, or hope there's another target to wail on, while my protectorate or another fighter peels off whatever is latched onto my Y.

also hot shots are very forgiving for a beginner who just made a mistake with his maneuvering against better players. Overall it's a middling upgrade but if you don't OWN feedback array, or some of the other illict cards it's not bad at all.

I do like the idea of using it to save my cloaking device. Who knew Jabba could be so nice to lend a hand?

My thoughts are pretty much what Crazy said, it's an upgrade that upgrades upgrades and imposes a restriction on list building, the strongest element of the YV was creating a flexible party bus out of Scum's decent 1 and 2pt crews, this big tub of lard essentially does nothing for 5pts and to get him to do anything you need to spend more points for any kind 'value', maybe down the road if there are some decent 3 or 4 point one shot illicits he might be worth a revisit but even the you'd need to take at least 2 for any kind of efficiency maybe more due to his slugbuttyness also soaking up valuable crew slots

Going to have to agree with the general consensus here: massive cost for questionable return at best. Maybe if anyone ever accidentally plays a game of epic this will have a purpose, but I can't see it having much use in a standard 100 point game. Which is kind of disappointing when compared to the power of Palpatine, even after the nerf.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

One can just hope that Scum get's a cheap 2 Crew ship in the future like the TIE Shuttle, Lambda or U Wing, so at the very least he doesn't take up 1/3 of your list. And preferably expensive and powerful one-use Illicits to make him more valuable.

But with what's currently out? He'll rarely be seen.

Yeah, I did not walk into this expansion expecting the Light Scyck to be one of the highpoints.

It's akin to eating Mcfood or low quality booze, some process in your brain blots out the shoddyness of the experience and all you recall is 'I haven't done X for ages', then you do X and all the terrible floods back, repeat until dead

It's like thinking Apocalypse is a fun format.

Or X amount isn't too much for a Duran Duran concert.

literal best I can say for a standard game is that it would allow a YV to 0-stop 3 times in a row if someone was behind them. Throw on APL and they have the choice of possibly taking damage to stay behind you, or moving in front of you.

That's the best I can say, and it's not great.

I think best I could concoct was Bossk with Hotshot and Shadowcaster Sabby with lots of glitterstim, doubtful either is better than current bossk bus' or ketsu/ventress Lancer

if someone is in her mobile arc you can add an eyeball when defending against them, with glitterstim this becomes an evade, the stress from stim is easy to shed as Lancer dial is lots of green, so for 4 turn she can tank or spank frightening well, chuck in the K4 ? (the t/l on green) crew and a gyro-mod and get really quite high

Ha, you meant as a Jabba-build.

There I was thinking that someone had cracked a nice efficient way for her to actually use that ability on a regular basis.

Darn?
