How does this actually play? single model or multiple bases etc?

Wondering how practical it is as a replacement rule set for a FoW army thats not enjoying v4?

Well you can use any basing really.

We have lots of players who use FoW armies with the rules.

It's a brilliant system, I have all the books, but note that to play you'll need the core rulebook as well as the Tobruk book (or whichever of the campaign books takes your fancy - they have the army lists, special rules for the period, themed scenarios and campaigns etc)

Can cope with that, a guy at my usual club has this and reckons its ok, if a house move comes off and I go back up there will have to grab a copy, hells have enough 15mm armies doing very little at the moment

The new hardback core rulebook has Normandy lists in it to get players started...

Oh now that may just have clinched it, having both Allies and Axis for Normandy, coupled with BF taking leave of their senses, payday in a few weeks... can see an order going in.

What sort of force sizes are you talking about in terms of model count?

My favorite engagement size for Battlegroup is 600 points, though I think that's a little on the high side for most people who play that game. For my Normandy Germans that means a platoon of Panzergrenadiers with half tracks, 4 Panzer IVs, a walking Stuka, a supply truck, and a forward HQ. 600 gives you a nice taste of everything while still making you think about what you're going to include.

Not bad forces sizes then, is there a benefit to individually based infantry?

Figured since this was aimed at 20mm the forces would be smaller than FoW, so also figured my FoW stuff could easily find a new home.

Cheers, hope to look this up in a few months following hopefully a house move

There is individual casualty removal so if individually based you can just remove a model for each casualty while multi based infantry need to use tokens or something else to keep track of casualties.

Seen multi bases stuff with beads or little rings to drop to show casualties - if I enjoy the game and its a reinforced platoon type of game (I.e. what Bolt Action was) fronting for the cost of a 15mm platoon or two, specially the lovely PSC models, I'll likely just get some more models
