Earlier in this occasional series I recklessly plunged into Cygnar and Retribution.

This week my head has been turned by the sweet looking Trollbloods models. I already have Skorne, Legion and Cryx.
Hello.

Just been looking at the Trollbloods gallery and wondering what makes their style different to Skorne.

Skorne seem fairly survivable and hard hitting. They have a ranged game plus some tricks with Friendly Souls, debuts etc.

I found some late MK2 descriptions of Trollbloods as more Tanky, attritional but slower when compared to Skorne.

A lot has changed since those days and I wonder how they compare to each other these days.

(For reference my other armies are Cryx and Everblight)

I don't know about today, but before their Beasts had the ability to regenerate without support, unlike Skorne. Many of their options tended to be rather like the Protectorate as well, in that proper support made them even harder to put down before their regeneration was brought in.

But I haven't kept up with them since Mk 3 started, as my collection has been focused on Mercenaries and Skorne. I do have some interest them as they were my second army long ago, but I'm still busy keeping up with what I have.

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?

A lot of the Trollbloods warbeasts can still be forced to regenerate. Looking through the Trollbloods cards they seem to go for more armour than Skorne, are slower (but more Pathfinder) and hit fairly hard.

They don't have the same amount if debuffs per se but a lot of knockdown.

A troll army send to be a collection of small combos in the orbit around a really big combo or element the enemy had to focus on. I guess I'm describing half the armies out there...
