So I keep seeing on the internet that tomb kings have been squatted. But they have rules in the app and points in the gen handbook. So...?
Also, I've been looking at mantids empire of dust stuff, and I quite like it. Does it translate over well?
How are tomb kings?

People are referring to the fact that GW no longer sell TK models.
Most people expect them to fade away, because no future support or releases seem likely.

There have been mentions of a similar faction in some of the fluff, and I've read multiple rumors of a Tomb King-like army under development (to be taken with a healthy dose of salt). The important thing, though, is that they are still a legal army with both rules and points. As long as your FLGS and/or TO are okay with third party models, the Mantic models are actually really good analogues.

I wouldnt be surprised that they would redo a vast majority of them making them a new faction and release the older good kits as new units with new names(and maybe another sprue) to get around the "Last Chance to Buy" and the reason they where squatted was the purge the old kits

Honestly, I feel that the Tomb Kings Skeleton Warriors and -Tomb Guard are much more in line with Nagash's aesthetic than the VC Skeleton Warriors and Grave Guard currently on sale, so I'd be totally fine with them bringing those TK kits back. Or GW just giving GA Death some much needed love in general.

I remember from the End Times books that Settra was ripped apart by Nagash and later repaired by the Chaos gods to possibly serve them later. I wonder if we will see a new version of Settra in a future release.
I would like to see another flavor of Death to come out. The old Vampire Counts models are awesome, but I feel like the Death Alliance is lacking real diversity in its range BECAUSE it all came from Vampire Counts. There are several different ways to show undeath as a fantasy concept, and I would like to see what directions they could go with it.

Do you remember which book that was in? It could totally work for my Chaos army's death god's backstory! Settra could have been remade as the God of Entropy!

I'm fairly certain it was the first one. That was the Nagash book, and I remember it was Nagash taking control of the Tomb Kings Undead once he defeated Settra.

Settra reappeared in the final end times novel. He definitely won't be serving chaos...
