Late June we'll have the second running of our LibertyHammer narrative weekend. Turnout was good and this was a really fun event last year, so we hope you can join us this year!

LibertyHammer 1000pt Individuals
Saturday, June 24, 10am to 9pm
$25 per player, including small store credit prizes, pizza lunch, and donation to the Free Library of Philadelphia

LibertyHammer Doubles
Sunday, June 25, 10am to 9pm
$50 per team, including small store credit prizes, pizza lunch, and donation to the Free Library of Philadelphia

LibertyHammer is a 40k narrative event, continuing the story of the Darian Sector begun at last year's weekend. Saturday features four 1000pt individual games and Sunday three rounds of doubles matches (1000pts per player). Players will fight for their alliance across the two days, but are free to only participate in one day or the other without penalty to themselves or their alliance. Both days will feature great terrain and our exciting, storyful missions: Shuttles crash, convoys are ambushed, civilians are slaughtered or saved, and many heroes and villains will be crowned! Small prizes will be awarded based on overall performance, craftsmanship, and particular achievements. This event is also an unofficial fundraiser for the Free Library of Philadelphia.

I'll come and hang out - moving to the city in the summer! Might even have an army ready by then!

This looks like a lot of fun - I'll definitely be there for the singles day Any chance we'll see the mission packet prior to the tournie? I'm really bad at on the spot mission interpretation...

I played in this last year and I have to say it was one of the best tournaments out there. Good rules, creative terrain and solid players. I'm going to see if I can make it down for at least one day since I don't live in the city, but I recommend it for anyone who can make it.

Definitely. You can check out last year's mission packet here:

This year will have a couple tweaks and some additional missions, but otherwise be very similar. I expect to have this year's updates out by early June, in part stalling to see if a firmer timeline for 8th edition comes out, and in part because first up is the booklet for a smaller narrative event we're running in May.

A tangential note for anybody interested is that, same as last year, we'll be using the same core mission packet for the NOVA 40k Narrative, with different campaign mechanics & story and some additional elements like the Recon Squad special missions and strategic resources.

Hope you can make it again!!!

With the release date now confirmed as June 17, we're definitely rolling this event into 8th edition straight out of the gate.

LibertyHammer is a casual, narrative-focused event, so it'll be a great way to get going in the new era of 40k with a bunch of fun games and cool people. Beginners welcome. Join us!

We had a great debut for 8th edition yesterday at Redcap's Corner!

Final army construction rules for this weekend's event are on the website:

http://libertyhammer.com/#rules

They're very simple though: Matched play, 1000 points, 2 detachments. Doubles players make two separate armies that combine only once the match starts, so they don't have to share faction keywords across both their lists. Further explanation at the link.
