Hey Guys

Didn't see a thread around and thought I would start one..

Well so far loving the New Content... been busy trying to work out the best build and tactics that work for me using Hive Mind.

But do say Fanatical Purifiers are a tad OP... that RoF bonus is amazing

I have an odd relationship with Stellaris. I absolutely love the game and played it a staggering ammount, both multiplayer and single, and I usually go with theme rather then function. I just like to see my Star Trek like federation grow and unite diverse aliens. My cocoroaches remorslesly enslave and consume the galaxy. My great Star spawns searching for Cthulu among the stars and unlocking their psychic potential. I almost view Stellaris as more of an interactive movie I think.

This new content seems to allow me to do all theese things and much, much more. Hence I find it awesome.

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.

I'm having a lot of fun with it! some of the traditions don't exactly seem to match a "hive mind" very well, though. I can use prosperity to unlock private colony ships?

I had a very fun game where my peace loving xenophiles ended up being bordered by slaving despots and fanatical purifiers. The despots trounced me and were in the process of taking all of my worlds, and in desperation i sent out one colony ship and found a distant planet to make my new home.

And then a fallen empire demanded i vacate the planet or die.

Wish I could afford this! Along with For Honor it's on my must-buy list.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

yeah they said they are going to do a rewrite of a bunch of things and events for Hive Mind, as there is a lot that doesn't quite fit in for them text wise

But I know I am loving my Hive Mind.. Taking planets for food.. and then vassal the occasional ones for future food =D

Thinking of grabbing the 40k portraits mod tonight before I make minor changes to the HM so I can have Tyranids =D

even though Fanatic Purifiers play better as nids.. they just not as fluffy

My space snails (Escargot Technocracy) are loving the new content! Even though they are surrounded by filthy hostile xenos...

I almost liked the hive mind except for the fact that I can't create a race of Horatios. In Endless Space there was a faction called the Horatio. They were an Empire of a guy who cloned himself. They all look like Emperor Horatio the most divine being in the universe. When cloned they were genetically modified too so they had different castes of Horatio for different things.

I still can't create something like that. :(

Anyways that aside I am loving the stuff to do in theory. It's just I haven't gotten around to it since Persona 5 has been taking up almost all my gaming ti me. I'm currently... just over half way done P5 and then I still need to go back and play HZD.

However someone from Steam added me and wants to try organize a huge Utopia game in the future. I think he wants to go for a full 1000 star map with as much people as he can get. I missed the first one.

If I get a chance to play in a game like that again I'll put HZD on the backburner.

It is pretty funny to see the "news agency reports life!" messages. So, my hive mind has a news agency? To... remind themselves of what they already know?

That was one of my favorite things about that game. probably the favorite thing, actually.

The combat system in Stellaris desperately needs an update though. Everything else is really nice (although I wish the Megastructures were actually relevant, they're way too late-game ATM), but combat in Stellaris is a friggin' chore. Having to babysit my invasion armies 24/7 so they don't get themselves killed running into one Corvette just isn't fun, and neither is the enemy running around with a tiny fleet shooting my infrastructure to pieces because defensive installations are rubbish.

So people..

having issues with Hivemind, I have noticed they seem to be a little slow no the initial grow.. but mid/late game I can just murder

The issue I am having is that initial slowness is putting me at a disadvantage against players who can just hit me when I start getting the full moment going.. do people have any tips or tricks? or simply don't use hivemind in multi play

I really really love Stellaris. I'm a little spoiled having started Paradox games with EUIV, which is pretty damn fleshed out and complete, so Stellaris always leaves a little wanting in areas like war management (warscore not ticking, planets being huge on war demands, difficult to have meaningful 'forts' like in EUIV, so on...) or trade (like the lack thereof; fortunately mods can add civilian trade), but Paradox is good at continual development and keeping the player base in the loop and hoisting feedback on board. Notably, 1.5/Utopia incorporated a much demanded and modded feature of having universal food rather than planet by planet food.

Haven't run a game in Utopia long enough to build and megastructures, but I'm playing a game with a friend (who I got hooked) that I made with more empires than normal, so everyone is forced to play a little tall or go conquer happy. Makes me happy as a tall player and my buddy happy as a warmonger.

Love the changes to ethics/government and unity trees (though they should be reworked so I don't have to unlock all of them to get max ascension perks [I'm a pacifist, I have no need for the domination tree]), and the next update will be a much needed QoL patch with some nice features according to the devs.

Definitely a game that will suck as much time as Civ and EUIV have.

Yes indeed

In my own game i just crushed a purity order and it was the most satisfying. space racists ain't got nothing on tolerant warrior turtles.
