Heya Dakka,
So today Ive decided i'd make my first project blog just to share my work with people and hopefully get some feedback. and stay motivated to paint
Here is the overall army I am painting. It is not an army proper but I have other models Ive already painted to go along with this (note all the heavy weapons in the group of kabalite warriors)

HQ
x1 Archon (Lady Malys)
x1 Hemi
Troops
x20 wychs
x22 Kabalite Warriors
Fast Attack
x10 Scourge
x3 Jetbikes
x1 Venom
x1 Razorwing Jetfighter
x4 Raiders
Elite
x5 Incubi
Heavy Support
x1 Talos
x1 Ravager

I started this project prior to getting the idea to document my work which is why there are some models already painted. These are completed already and will give you a good Idea of my paint scheme.

More to come

Looking good, there's a lot of models there so you've got your work cut out for you. I like your scheme, I think it works especially well on the Reaver you did. The wings on that scourge are also really nice. It's always nice to see another DE plogger here and I look forward to seeing what you do next.

So an update on my progress "albeit a slightly boring one" Ive primed the army black with a spray of white primer from a top angle.

Here I had a bit of an issue with spraying white primer out of my airbrush. You can see splotches of white due to the airbrush spitting.

Anyone else had this issue or have a fix?
Here is a closer shot of the kabalite warriors I stripped down I think they turned out pretty decent considering the amount of paint that was on them, although they also have some spit marks on them from the airbrush. Hopefully the base coat will cover this up

Thats all for now I should be able to get a good bit of painting done in the next couple of days and produce some finished models.

It's exciting to see so much primed models ready for paint (and a bit daunting too). I'm stoked to see what you do with them. I'm especially excited for that razorwing model, one of GW best IMO.

I also noted the crown royal bag, one of my favourite drinks for sure. Those bags made for great DnD dice bags when I was a kid. Looking forward to the next update.

So I managed to get a good bit of painting in this weekend and reading the comments I decided to paint the razorwing jetfighter and some of the heavy/special weapon Kabalite warriors.

Here i've put down a basecoat and a top down highlight.

Here I have an almost finished product

Here Is the completed model and base.

The model seemed so bare so I decided to freehand a bit of lightning on the front and over both of the engines
You may notice the guy in the cockpit does not have very much detail and thats because I was planning on putting a painted canopy over him but I cannot seem to find the bits for that.
As for the base i just used a dremel to carve out a good bit of the plastic and then I glued some foam underneath it painted it blue and put water effect on top.

Here are some shots of the completed Kabalite warriors

And my weekends work all together

Very nice work, really digging the bases, it's a nice vibrant alternative to many of the darker bases DE have.

Nice! I too like the vibrant bases I also really like the fade you've got on the Reaver-helmeted trueborn's visor. Very nice indeed

Hey guys just wanted to throw out an update. No finished models yet as its been a busy work week but I have made some headway on this weeks project.

I decided that I would paint up some 10 of the wyches and a riader to go with them.
Ive been dreading painting these models as fleshtones are not one of my strengths but ive been watching some youtube videos and attempting to learn some new techniques.

Some shots of the raider base. I'm going for an ancient urban battle field so ill throw some green overgrowth over this once it is painted.
Ive been watching some basing tutorials and from here on you will notice some changes in the way I base models. Notably ill be basing the models before they are painted and ill be painting all of the basing material I use as I find it just looks better that using rocks straight out of the tub

This is where i am currently. Ive based, basecoated and highlighted the raider and Ive based, basecoated, partially highlighted and painted the skin on the wychs.
I expect I can have this project completed by Saturday or so hopefully So ill have the next update then.

Love Wych models. Looking forward to seeing how they come out for ya. And don't fret too much on the skintones, they're actually a bit easier than you'd first imagine.
