I've recently acquired and converted some new models, two sorcerers on bikes and three squads of AC havocs among others, so i thought i'd try making a new list.

I'm really aiming for a strong list that would be competitive at tournaments as well as in my local meta. I play against some ''power gamers'' who like bending the rules in their favor, and it doesn't help that their lists are really strong too; DA lion's blade strike force, bastonial court, flesh hound spam, eldar(not sure what the formation is called to name some.

Just trying to make a good all-rounder list, any comments and suggestions are apprecialted.

Possibly look to try and get another 3 man bike unit with melta guns in there as threat options against heavy armour armies

Thank you for the comment. Yes, that sounds like a good idea with the DP. I like the sound of pandemic staff though, with the option to use a 2+'poisoned flamer and the ap:2 and plus strength sound really nice. Nothing can match the black mace as anti infantry though.

I could trade havocs for bikers I guess.

Havoks are better than bikers IMO

The flamer on the pandemic staff is ok but I figure the prince will be targeted a lot and thus you will jink a lot thus unable to shoot, The deamon weapon ability is so nice I would go for the Black mace if I were you.

Yea, that's a good point. The black mace is great.

I have the models for another unit of havocs, so I am tempted to bring 3 AC havics, I might drop the DP for 2 heldrakes and try to make room for another unit of havocs.

If you choose to have 1 unit to go around with the lord and sorcerers. the 5 man bike unit or the spawns but not both. drop 4 spawns to get you the points for the extra bike unit. The DP is awesome and with FnP from the begining is great. even better if you get lucky with the a gift of mutation roll and get +1 T or eternal warrior.

I'm working on something very similar and purely on personal preference I'd take more bikers over more havocs. Remember you have to take the mark or nurgle so they're all T6 which is awesome, just avoid grav guns. Damn loyalists. I'd advise making the DP a beat stick as well, if you can fit in one mastery level for nurgle/biomancy powers great, if not he's still a tough cookie.

At lvl 1 the DP can only roll on nurgle.

Damn I always forget that. Ah well nurgles still an awesome discipline, hope for gift of contagion/curse of the leper and get the primaris for psychic focus.

Im a big fan of Heldrakes so I could encourage their use but the Deathguard Deamon prince is also a beautifully nasty beast of destruction.

I feel 2 units of autocannon Havocs is enough to do its job, I like bringing things in pairs but more than pairs is restricting the possibility of variety in your units and might feel a bit cheezy to your opponent. its not a bad choice though.

I made a revised list.

Daemon Prince - ML 1, Nurgle, Power Armour, The Black Mace, Wings

Chaos Lord - Bike, Lightning Claw, Power Fist, Blight grenades, Warlord

Sorcerer - ML 3, Bike, Force Axe, Melta bombs, Spell familiar

Sorcerer - ML 3, Bike, Force Axe, Spell familiar

5x CSM - Chaos Rhino, Plasma Gun

5x CSM - Chaos Rhino, Plasma Gun

6x Chaos Bikers - 2x Meltagun, Melta Bombs

3x Termies - 3x combi-melta, 2x Power axe, 1 Chain fist

5x Havocs - 4x Autocannons

2x Heldrakes w/bale flamers

A few points I'd like feedback on:

- Are there too few models on the board? If so, what would you suggest for a change?
- What weaknesses does the list have?
- Would you suggest power weapon on the biker champ?
- Any other suggestions for change of wargear?
- Is the second sorcerer needed or should he be swapped out?
- Should I trade the biker star for spawn?

Lord needs an inv save.
I personnaly think 1 sorcerer is enough but then I am only using it to negate offensive spells against my biker star.
I wonder if combi plasma is better for termies (i understand melta is good but i would prefer to see that stuff on mobile bikers.

The next bit is simply because I don´t think helldrakes give enough offensively compared to what you gain Obj grabbing wise. (don´t get me wrong I love the AP3 flamers)

I would prefer to see a second smaller bike unit there with 2 melta guns.
maybe a dirge caster on the rhinos to go anti Tau.
second unit of havocs is always nice so you have fire support either side of the board.
remaining points into spawn as the auxilliary and second string mechanism for the lord if too many bikers die.

I guess I'll have to drop a biker for the sigil.

What would you get instead of the drakes?

Drakes are good. If anything, drop a sorcerer for more solo spawn.

Other than that, your list us pretty close to mine. Would love to find out how you do. Nurgles blessings!

With relentless, you can throw 2 autocannons in a rhino with a havoc launcher and make a decent little firebase with AV11 that can move and shoot. Depending on what you're facing that can be a hard nut to crack for ObSec troops parked in cover. Also consider the quad heavy bolter set up. With relentless, this is a surprisingly deadly set up for drive by's.

Drop Heldrakes and 2 Autocannons, add 5 havocs with 2 Autocannons and 5 Havocs with 2-4 Heavy Bolters and put all three in Rhinos with Havoc Launchers. You gain way more infantry killing power over flamers that are only shooting 50% of the game, and you can glance the ubiquitous rhino/razorback spam everyone runs with now. DG plus obsec make squads like this insanely powerful in objective games.

You lose vector strikes but 2 of the benefits of the formation, leadership modifers and reserve roll manipulation, you don't really use.

the rhinos are still limited to 6" movement which is the same as being on foot and you can fire all 4 autocannons then

They'll be a bit more durable, not that durability is DG's biggest weakness.

They are better on foot. You can only fire two weapons out of the rhino at any given time. And they have stealth being 18 inches away from the enemy.

Isn´t the stealth think for all units within the velectorum detachment. So the rhinos would get it as well or do they need to have the MoN/VotLW

I believe the shrouding only works on non-vehicule units.

I would agree that DG havocs don't need the armor plating, they're tough enough already and reducing their firepower by half is a heavy price to pay.

I like your list, I would indeed remove a biker to give the lord a sigil and for a 2000pts list I would just add another unit of Havocs.

The rhinos get shrouding the same way they get obsec. Yea, I'll remove the biker.

I might try a list where I swap one psycher for another unit of havocs

Yea shrouding is the spell, i forgot. Cloud of flies gives stealth to everything in the vectorium.
