Alright guys?

I run a guard army and got fed up with the lack of fast hard hitters so invested in some deathwatch, I was wondering if the Deathwatch Black Spear strike force counts as a formation and can it be taken as so? If not can it be taken as an allied detachment? In either case can these deathwatch units capture objectives as allies?

Cheerio

The black spear strike force is like the Space Marine Demi company or Tau Hunter Contingent, it's sort of a formation of Formations. You need to take all requirements listed in order to gain the benefits.

Formations and such still use the ally matrix but they are different from the allied detachment (which is what, 1 hq, one troop, etc.)

Formations and such can capture objectives but they do not have Objective Secured, unless their formation gives them it.

OK, thanks for that, can you give out purity seals or something on here for helpful peeps?

Just to be sure, I can take my main guard force as CAD then bolt on the black spear ( 1 lib hq, 1 vet team, one strategium led by chaplain, 1 dread and a corvus) without pissing anyone off?

I'll try to get a Bat Scribe list and post it
