Within the "Bitch about GW thread wäs a gem of an idea. Not so much as a joke or as a trolling attempt, but with genuine interest, I present that here.

After all the 'praising GW for bits', which I mentiond for gaks and giggles, what do you do with them bits?

I have several IKEA Gliss plastic tubs, marked with the (type of) army. I have an IKEA Gliss with Space Marine bits, all the left arms in a section, all the heads together in another section, etc. The same for Chaos Space Marines, orks, and almost every other army I have. In that manner, I have used the extra swords and spears from my Fantasy Chaos Knights, cut off the stabby blade bits, transplanted them onto Terminator arms, and thus built my own conversions for Chaos Terminators with Power Weapons (Swords).

I know of one or two others that have started a club bitz box. You can swap any bit in the box for an equivalent bit, exchanging, for example, a pair of Space Marine arms with Boltgun for a pair of Chaos Space Marine arms with Chaos Boltgun. Other than that, one might individually try to sell or trade bits, but I wonder if that (the selling of the bits) actually works individually, knowing there are quite a few bits sites, and Ebay.

So again, what do you do with your left-over bits?

I have a big tub of them. I'm happy to give friends free access within reason.

I mostly use mine for basing and conversion and occasionally filling in gaps. Latest use of mine was digging into my old O&G bits to add some variety and a few extra members to my Ork Kill Team for SWA.

Lots of people swap using the same Facebook groups used to schedule games.

I have little toolbox full of Mechanicus, Tau, Marine (???), Tyranid (?!?!), and Imperial Knight bits. Astoundingly useful, Mechanicus bits are amazingly good for conversions.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

I ave several boxes, sorted by army. And then I have one big box with all the offcuts, hard-to-identify- bits, and whatever. And finally one 'WIP box', where I toss in everything I thing I might need for a project.
