i finally got around to building a Minotaurs army. So far, I am pretty pleased. I'm structuring it as a Fist of Medusa Strike Force. I don't really know the rules but I think I can use it for non-Iron Hands chapters. Anyway, there are some cool formations I like in it. As far as the models I decided to go with Mark IV armor and Taratos Terminators. I think I prefer the clean, sleeker look. Especially with the Terminators.

So the first entry is the Storm Lance Battle Company. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with everything except the Chaplain. I didn't highlight the armor, wanted to see how it turned out. Meh. So here are some pics and opinions are welcome. Thanks for checking it out.

Looking good mate, glad you finally got around to doing some Minos, if I recall you mentioned wanting to do them quite some time ago!

Hey mate, I really like your Minotaurs. The Mark IV looks really nice in their colors, I may have to do a squad too!

Keep up the good work, im looking forward to see more

Your army looks fantastic so far, mate. May I ask what your recipe for their armor is? It looks great. Mark IV was definitely a good call, can't wait to see those Tartaros terminators (my personal favorite mark of Termi armor!).

Para- Good to hear from you and thanks. Yeah, I have been really busy lately, figured I didnt have time for a proper P&M blog so Im posting these guys here. Took a while to dig up a Minotaur transfer sheet too. Your stuff has been looking good as always.

Sargent- Thanks, I like yours too. Seems like you are spending a lot of time individualizing your Minotaurs. I like the sergeant with the giant chain sword on the stairs.

Kraytirous- Thanks, and Ill post the paints for you when I get back to the house. Im doing a 1st Company Task Force so 10 Taratos are on the way.

Ok, next formation: The Iron Guardians. Definitely one of my favorite space marine formations. No idea how it works on the tabletop, but I think it is a very fluffy formation. I can picture a Contemptor and Tactical Squad support being tasked to take an objective or hold a line. Seems very self sufficient and tactically flexible. Also, changed the background. Those first pics make the boys look a little more yellow than they are. See how this does....

Under the couch

Bases could use some more detail, and a sand around the edges of the cut circles - but it's a great looking force.

Well, GW, God love 'em, has done away with formations. So, what to do. Guess I'll be building the "Brigade" size army. So, a quick update with that ugly as sin Legion Centurion that I'm using as a standard captain. Also the simple chaplain to librarian conversion.

Elbows- thank you sir

Gordy- it's pretty simple. A beige base coat followed by solid coat of Game Color Tinny Tin. Next a dry brush of GW Runelord Brass. Then another dry brush of Model Color Bronze. You kinda have to eyeball that until you get the covering you like. Next I apply Nuln Oil shade to the recesses. I don't wash the model. Then hit it with a nice spray of dull coat. I think that's the thing that does the trick.

Insaniak- I agree the bases are plain. I was trying to figure out what kind to use on these guys and had attached the finished guys to plain bases. I decided I really liked the simple black base. Gave them a more menacing appearance I think. So I just painted some tile platicard. I may do something else with it.

On to a couple pics....

So, a quick update. First squad of these guys. I didn't care for the Tartarus when they first came out, but they grew on me. I have a second squad with lightning claws on deck. Like I said before, nice, clean armor. No scrolls and no damn skulls.

Thanks Elbows.

So I got my assault squad done. Originally I had 10 for the Skyhammer Annihilation thing. But since formations got 86'd there isn't a pressing need for a second squad. Especially with the Primaris jump pack guys coming. Also the first Rhino/Razorback. Didn't do the best of jobs trimming the transfer. I'll have to work on that.

It's great to see you finally got this army off the ground after, and with a painting scheme you are happy with... and they look damned good.

Thanks guys for the comments. I have been plugging away at this army but got way behind on posting. Here is an army shot to date. Got lots to add including Primaris Minotaurs. I decided to rebase the army too, once it's done I'll post some proper pics.

Nice work. Jesus those little snub flyers are awful though aren't they?

Thanks again Elbows. Yeah those flyers are mean in all the best ways!

Now, originally I had the black tiles bases thinking it would reflect the sinister inside of the Minotaurs ships. On second thought, not the best idea. I did like the dark colors and think it looks good on the bronze. So I went back to an old friend, cork. I think they work well together.

I included some more pics, the army is nearly done. Haven't kept up with this blog as I should have. I was going to add a Primaris contingent but decided not. I'm a big fan of all thing GW, not these marines. I don't know, they don't look grim dark. They almost look like they belong in a video game. Especially the scout guys. Anyway......

A Protoss colony world

That is one cool army you've got there. It must be a great feeling to have such a cohesive looking and well-painted force. Shame you aren't going to add Primaris guys to the force; they'd look kickass in the Minotaurs scheme.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000
